Bro. First of all, if you're taking someone in the 5th round why double up on receivers? Then you're going to take touches away from Miles in the 7th? Plus, I like Jordan at LT. Bad mock. Terrible.

Well for good measure I also have us signing Fields as a priority UDFA.  You know, QB factory.

So, you're racist? I get it now. Probably like Wentz over Hurts too. And peanut butter over jelly.

Way to unrealistic.  Howie would never take studs from the best conference in college football.  Otherwise looks good.

Since I guess we're posting mocks here now. Played with The Draft Network's simulator and got this:

Did one on Fanspeak. They already projected compensatory picks for us, no trades in this mock. I was tempted to go CB in the 2nd round with Derion Kendrick available, but couldn't pass up on the value for Wyatt Davis there, who could easily be a mid-1st round pick.

I just did that thing for the first time and used DRAFTTEK's rankings as they weren't terrible back in the day that I remember. I got this, which is just unrealistic. If those first three picks happened, I'd just call it a draft with a huge erection.

6: R1 P6 CB Patrick Surtain II - Alabama
38: R2 P6 LB Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah - Notre Dame
70: R3 P6 WR Amon-Ra St. Brown - USC
147: R5 P6 EDGE Jaelan Phillips - Miami
151: R5 P10 C Landon Dickerson - Alabama
185: R6 P6 S Greg Eisworth - Iowa State
215: R6 P36 WR Jonathan Adams Jr. - Arkansas State
219: R6 P40 CB Camryn Bynum - Cal
222: R6 P43 TE Nick Eubanks - Michigan
228: R7 P6 LB Ventrell Miller - Florida

That first mock you got there is nearly flawless. If we do trade Wentz and fetch another 2nd, you could really do some damage by getting a corner, safety or LB earlier.

I don't pay attention to this stuff anymore. Years ago it was a job, but since then I honestly don't care. That said, before the season I had said the two kids in the country I was most excited to watch were Wu and Cisco.

If the Eagles were able to move Wentz, gain some capitol with him and by moving back a bit in the first and then trade up into the first again to grab Wu ... dangerous player. A kid that I've watched play man in zero coverage on receivers a few times? Again, in ZERO coverage. That's some trust.

I did another exercise tonight trying to see just what a QB slip could look like. What if Justin Fields fell? I don't think it's likely, but what if? What if they took him? Ended up having to go LB later, but getting CB and WR in the 2nd and 3rd and again, targeted an athlete in Cox from LSU.  As I previously mentioned, I don't break these guys down anymore, but that kid's raw ability looked insane this season. When you stick out at LSU athletically, it's good.

We all have our man crushes but this organisation hardly ever takes the guys I want them to pick. Back in 2012, I wanted them to take Wagner or David over Kendricks in the 2nd. Didn’t happen and how has that turned out? Both players are still with the teams that drafted them and had way better careers than Mychal.

Point is; we can speculate all we want but at the end of the day chances of the Eagles selecting that guy we all love are slim to none. I don’t know what it is with Howie and Co. 9 out of 10 times they overthink it by projecting what the kid could become in our scheme instead of taking the better prospect.

You only have to take a look at the two receivers we took high lately. They overtought it by taking JJAW by thinking he could become Alshon’s heir apparent in a year or two and taking Reagor because of his skill set (speed and explosiveness) and projection in this offense.

Both times we passed on superior receivers in Metcalf and Jefferson. And what does Howie do in his season’s end presser when he got asked the question why they took Reagor over Jefferson? Yep, coming up with a stupid excuse saying that if they would have known Jefferson would be that good, they might have taken him! Do your homework better, man! Everyone saw from a mile away Jefferson was clearly the better prospect.

If the rumors are true that Weidl and his staff wanted Howie to take Jefferson over Reagor and Chinn over Hurts (don’t get me wrong, I’m happy we have him now), Lurie should definitely take those responsabilities away from Howie and give it to Weidl and Dorsey.

After that first three, does it really matter?
