Kmart Kz: The FBI is too busy catching domestic terrorists instead of preventing ransomware attacks!

Also Kmart Kz: Clearly the Russians are in on it and planned a fake ransomware attack to make Biden's FBI look good!

 you are the single dumbest human to have ever lived

Yeah, that's totally something I said, little dude.

Oh my apologies, "it's a planned op, an inside job just like 9/11!"

You're right, that's much better

"bro, the government did it, they clearly ran an op to hack a major US pipeline to make Biden look good."

lmao, three fake quotes in a row.

The little fella can't stop.

"Bro, if they lie to us about stuff like this hack, they're probably also lying to us about the shape of the earth."

Little dude fake quotes aside, I really don't know much about the intricacies of Bitcoin. Can anyone with any knowledge of the storage/transferring of BTC payments speak on this? Would it be unusual for a group of elite hackers capable of taking down the east coast's supply of oil not be able to hide the money? I thought one of the major appeals, or drawbacks depending on your perspective, was that Bitcoin was untraceable making it more difficult for government's to regulate and making it perfect for cyber criminals and the black market.

Someone dumb enough to think a ransomware hack on a major US pipeline was an inside job by the government now thinks he can even begin to understand how bitcoin works.

I'm talking specifically about the traceability/security of money transfers. I know I've read that there are many critics of it due to the ease with which it can be used for untraceable black market activities and money laundering. Looking for someone with actual knowledge of it to weigh in. Maybe @mattmcginley7?

Keep at it Kz. You will get to the bottom of this!

I was wondering which thread Kz! was making a fool of himself in today. Think I've found it.

Haha, Paul's taking a break from faceplanting in the ishlib thread to come here where there's more backup.

Remember, though, I'm just asking questions.

It's probably in your best interest to stay out of IT and crypto discussions. It's way beyond your level of intelligence.

I know, it's not like I'm on the level of AOC playing 4D chess against conservative twitter, amirite?

Maybe she's behind the hack?

Bitcoin is absolutely traceable, now Monero is not

Wow that's a Captain America vibranium shield level of deflection right there!.

Well she was the mastermind behind getting conservatives to help her impoverished grandmother, right? So I guess it's not out of the realm of possibility.

This is never going to get old.

Oh, yeah I genuinely don't know much about it beyond losing quite a bit on it in mid-may. Sounds like the hackers should have gotten their payment in Monero, though.

Now the question is did they pay in Bitcoin? This is probably all some type of inside job. Maybe it's linked to Pizza Gate (speaking of things that will never get old).

Yep

For those genuinely curious and not suffering from lifelong brain damage, anything with a public ledger is theoretically traceable. See Silk Road for reference. Now how we gained access to the keys (unknown from whose wallets and when) to recover some of the money is an entirely different matter, but when I said that the US is the preeminent cyber global super power, this is what I mean.

Yep

I don't know, we'll have to get AOC to get to the bottom of all of these scandals and more, right?
