I'd only want to go that route if 100% all else fails. I can download the backups and if worse comes to worst and we have to do a disaster restore, I can do it. It just may be a task that would take hours at best, days at worst (depending on various things, like what I have going on here and if I can devote time to it).

For now though, I encourage everyone who has a Twitter account to follow  @EaglesMsgBoard

That's the Twitter account for the board... and is generally inactive but in cases like this, I can go there and let everyone know what's going on.

Nah, I just wait for the movie to come out.  Too much reading otherwise.

My next choice would be Invision, but they tend to be pretty expensive. Self hosting is an option that I've contemplated, but I can't even begin that process right now and the initial costs would be higher than I'd want to go with (building a dedicated server, installing a business internet connection and then having a backup server to store site backups in case the server blew up).

After the new year, I'll explore Invision. But I think the more realistic option is for me to just manually download the GoDaddy backups and store them here. Then if I have to restore, I can but from past experience, it's not a fast option (for restoring) and if anything can go wrong, it will go wrong lol.

Let's just get this season over with and into 2021 and then I'll begin looking at options.

I'm on another board that uses https://xenforo.com/ for when you're looking at other places

I don’t see it on mobile. I didn’t take notice when I was on my PC.

I wouldn't want to switch from the Invision platform. It's been our 'home' for too long. It's like a comfortable pair of slippers lol.

Let me know if that doesn't go away by Saturday or Sunday. That was one of the issues that we were having while it was offline. The SSL had to be refreshed. It's showing correctly for me, but you may be in a different part of the country or accessing from different servers and it hasn't updated yet. Or you may try the site from a different browser, one that you don't normally use, and see if it shows as secure. If it does, you may need to clear your cache on your normal browser.

When they upgraded us last week, they didn't set the IP address correctly. So today, when their system updated, we got knocked offline. Now that we're back, we've lost everything back to last Saturday. :furious:

Aaaaaah, was wondering why my mobile device keeps giving me this message (and still does even though I can log on via my laptop).

That's fine. I just wanted to give you some options. I don't know anything about that. So it's the server that we're having problems with and not the board?

It's gone for me now. Thanks

@VaBeach_Eagle You may want to consider Bluehost instead of GoDaddy for web hosting.  I use them for my business sites and have never had any major issues.

BTW thanks for everything with setting this board up and Merry Christmas!

I had some terrific posts too. To make it easier on everybody, you can just "like" this post instead. I'll wait.

I was getting that on Firefox from yesterday afternoon until just now. I deleted cache & cookies and now it works. First time I've had a problem fixed by doing that.

Draft a backup admin in the first round.

Is there another place we can go to?

Yeah but they wouldn't have Danica Patrick representing them.  :excited:
