I'm not sure yet what I think will happen.  The one thing I keep coming back to is that all the intel leading up to Jan 6 pointed to the possibility of real violence.  It wasn't just bluster.  We saw plenty of posts in here over the last month pointing toward the possibility and none of us were really following the actual places where that chatter was taking place (well, maybe Kz! and of course posters that are no longer posting).  So why would we not believe in the threats regarding the next couple of weeks that are currently in the chatter?

Some do... and are crazy enough to think they are still patriots. There will be sproradic fighting because of this group.

As sad as it is to say, the more shooting and intervention by the national guard/military the better, IMHO. Unfortunately this misbelief that the election was stolen and Democrats are going to burn the country down is not going away after Inauguration Day. Obviously 5 people dying and the capitol being overrun was not enough for republicans pushing propaganda to grow a spine and stop lying to their supporters.

The real question is how many people have to die before they do?

I believe there will be violence and an attempt on Biden/Harris' lives.

I do not think violence will be widespread. These pathetic losers have not shot their wad. They are still calling for violence. They call the election we just had a coup. I wish I was joking, but I have it from rabid, right-wing family members that a coup happened and it elected Biden.

It is going to get, very, very ugly, but as we saw on the 6th, the insurgents are idiot, entitled wimps. They have weapons and zip-ties, but steal meaningless trophies,  kill police and piss in offices.

This will be a shitshow of legendary proportions, but the cockroaches will scurry away once the lights come on and a prepared response of armed and armored people is waiting.

I think in the days leading up we will see more arrests, social media already cracking down, but there will be a few that show up.  They will be dealt with swiftly and after nut job gets impeached things will quiet down.

I think there will be widespread violence. More will die. Biden and Harris are in imminent danger. That said I think the secret service and the national guard will do their jobs, keep our new president and Vice President safe, and quell the violence.

I think that by and large things will go on much as they have. There will be a few idiots causing trouble, but the vast majority of Americans will get on with their lives. No war. No constant attacks costing hundreds of thousands of lives per year. Nothing over the top. That's my expectation as we transition to the new administration.

Your poll options are wack, but I voted for bravado. There will be more protests that will probably get violent, but I don't know that many will die. Many another handful or two at most? This whole notion that neighbors across the country are going to be pitted against each other in prolonged violent confrontation is beyond ridiculous.

Yeah I think it will be either a few people, or if people get really stupid and try to shoot it out with the secret service or national guard, dozens. Before anyone even entertains the thought, "Trumpbots couldn’t be that stupid”, yes, yes they can.

Someone should tell the QAnon/Trumpbots that antifa is planning on meeting in X (maybe some place in the middle of nowhere in Kansas or the Dakotas).  Then tell antifa that QAnon/Trumpbots are planning on meeting in X.  Then we can have the fight to the death between the two groups that has been suggested.  Hopefully there's only one person left, and then there's only one person to charge with crimes after the death match is over.
