This is in reference to well beyond January 20, but federal law enforcement is going to have to have a reckoning with these right wing groups; they’ve gone unchecked for way too long and they’re going to continue to commit terrorist acts until they’re dealt with as terrorists.

I believe the next 5-10 years will be very busy for the FBI, ATF and other agencies having to track and keep these groups from creating mayhem.  Modern cyber security experts will need to monitor these groups and arrest these wackos before they have a chance to organize uprisings 

The President and the GOP have been calling them lovely people and doing their best to get their support.

Not surprising they feel emboldened.

Storming the capitol after the President and his bishes urged them on was surprising.

No of course not if you compare the carnage in a nuclear war vs. the damage from a very wide spread and violent uprising (plus the damage to society, structure, confidence, economy, etc.) but more likely to happen and therefore more likely that there would be some very real and very significant damage to the country.  A nuclear war is binary, this situation is not.

"Bravado" should be seen as including a few isolated nutjobs and maybe a small group or two of four or five people.  "Many will die" means dozens or 100s.  Maybe I should have had a 5th option but that's how I was intending the difference.

Pretty much no one in here thinks we are getting a real full scale Civil War or an actual Revolution.  I think everyone agrees there is going to be some level of trouble so it is either very limited meaning this large scale boasting is only a lot of noise or we actually get groups of 10-20 heavily armed people running around causing havoc across the country over a good bit of time.  Obviously there is gray area in the middle there.

I don’t think these idiots will be able to get close enough to the inauguration to do anything at this point. You’d basically have to believe some crazy diabeetus militia would overrun the national guard. 
These people are cowards and the only reason they were able to storm the capitol is because it wasn’t protected. Things will be different this time.

Yeah. Doesn't even have to be in DC. I dunno just throwing out scenarios. Maybe state capitals?

I wouldn't be surprised if there's some type of plan for Inauguration Day, but Secret Service and National Guard have no excuse to not be prepared to keep everyone safe.  It might be a good idea (if they haven't already) to make statements about the security and that anyone showing up to cause harm like before will be met with quick action so don't risk it.  

I think we'll continue to see pockets of groups getting into fights.  We've already seen many examples over the years of people fighting and protests turning violent and groups showing up to counter-protest other groups. 

What I think they will try to do? Revolution. Trump as Dictator. 

What I think will happen? Sporadic violence.
