I debated telling this story, but...  WTF, why not.    I havent had a drink since November 5th 2020. Now, as some of you might know, I do enjoy the occasional beverage or 36.  But what happened that night... well... It was the night of my wifes birthday.  Due to covid, we had a "small" gathering at our house around the pool. We live in S. Florida, so still about 183 degrees outside in early November.

Anyways..  I started drinking around 10am. Mind you, this was a Thursday and most people werent coming over until around 6, and then had to work the next day. But not this guy... Around 430pm I fired up the grill, as I sipped on Crown n Coke #5 or 6. If you have ever tailgated with me, or anything like that, I pour VERY heavy. Like... 6oz Crown/1oz Coke.  So when I say im on drink 5 or 6, im about to move onto bottle #2.   Im feeling good. Wife is enjoying the pool, and then her mom is the first to arrive. **Side note** My wifes mom is only 51. My wife is 34.**  I am 42 for those curious.

So like I was saying. my wife was in the pool. Her mom just arrived. I suggested her mom to go swimming, and she responded by telling me she didnt bring her suite. In my infinite stupidity, I told her to just go in her panties and dont worry about a top...

Now, my wifes mom isnt bad looking at all. My wife did not hear this exchange.  Her mom's eyes responded to my likely .16% bac response to her with pure fire. I thought I was dead where I stood. She said not a word. Then a knock at the door.. Thank god, a few friends showed up just then.

So the next few hours felt like days. I was trashed. I knew I said something I shouldnt have. I didnt know if the mother in law said anything to the wife. Wife acted normal. Mother in law didnt say a word to me all night.  I felt a storm brewing but wasnt sure where it was coming from..

End of the night comes, and by now I am on crown and coke #??  double digits somewhere, along with a few shots here and there. Everyone leaves, wife is in the shower, mother in law and MY mom are in the living room talking.  I was kinda hiding in the theater room not sure if I should try to extinguish the flames while drunk, or just pass out in the theater and live to fight another day.

Guess what I did....

Yep, I went to fight the brave fight. Drink in hand.  F it.  So I go out in the living room and my mom is saying her goodbyes, yelling bye to my wife whos still in the shower. My mom leaves. So here I am. Drunk as F,  Wife in shower. Mother in law sitting on the couch across from me. She looks right at me and says "I cannot believe you suggest I swim naked in front of your friends and family, if it was ONLY you and {insert wifes name here}, then maybe but not everyone.

jaw. hits. floor.

WHAT?!? She then just smiles at me and says she noticed me checking her boobs out before!  WTF. Is she F'ing with me? Whats happening here?

Wife comes out and we say our goodbyes to her mom.  I dont say a word to the wife. This is my hell. 9 weeks later and 0 drinks for this guy.  Not that I planned to go sober, but I just havent had the urge to drink since then. I have only seen the wifes mom once since then for Christmas and she acted as if nothing happened. Wife has never said anything.

So what says you guys? Is she messing with me? Is wife in on it? Was it a ploy to get me to stop drinking? Does mother in law want this D?  I know I know I know.. "pics of mother in law"  Maybe... in time.

I’m late to the party but....smash.  Say you were drunk and MiL took advantage. And F picks...post vids.

Real talk, what were the withdrawals like? Did you really quit cold turkey because of some milf scared you straight? Is that the cure to not having seizures? I’m asking for a friend

I don’t think you get withdrawals with one drunken night.

I had a buddy who was a hard core alcoholic.  He would drink a fifth and a six pack a night.  He backed off drinking less and less every night.  After a few weeks he was down to a few beers a night and that’s when he quit.  No withdrawals, 9 years sober.

I understand that you wouldn’t have withdrawals from one night but from his story and how much he would consume it would seem like he’s been drinking for a long while and being the usual. I get that drinking less and less and winding down on alcohol helps with quitting but I understand that quitting cold turkey can lead to withdrawal and even death. That’s why I asked because it seemed like he was a heavy drinker at the time. Just a concern on my part because I go one day without it and I can’t sleep do to my body having nasty vibrations and tossing and turning

My drinking is very unconventional.  I typically go days, weeks, sometimes months between drinks.  My issue is that when i do decide to drink, I go all out.  There is no 1 drink at dinner bs. Its usually a bottle or 2 a night.  But then i can just go about my life the next day and not even sniff alcohol for a long stretch.  I have always been like that. I do have an unusually high tolerance for alcohol though.  I can drink A LOT of liquor in a relatively short period of time,  like 3-6hrs and be ok.  I'll get drunk and fun, but no puking and usually no hangover.  In that period i can easily drink 10-20 mixed drinks.  Usually whiskey and diet coke.

Yep.  Same here.  Sans the coke.  Being able to drink like this is a blessing and a curse.  Well, i quit the whiskey for New Years.   I hardly drink any beer.  The boozer in me is like "what's the point."  I might go full @probably and drink wine like a fancy gentleman.

Same here. I have to physically try to get drunk anymore (if that's my goal) cause normal drinking just won't do it. However, normally I don't do that, I just drink at a normal pace and make sure all the people around me that get drunk don't make too terrible of decisions

When you rip that bag from the box, cut the pourer off and salvage that last trapped glass.... I tell you, it doesnt get more refined than that.

20 years ago i would agree. But now, at my age, that story is just one of those things that... make you quite drinking.  Never hit hit on wifeys friends or family.  And on her bday?  Yeah all bad.  Good job acknowledging it

Only have an occasional wine or champagne in a blue moon. Very rare one!

You don't drink you don't smoke.

What do ya do?
