That didn't take long, the local guys have already started peddling the QB controversy narrative. Wait till the national media gets a hold of it tomorrow. Skip Bayless, Max Kellerman, and the Josina Anderson's of the world are gonna have field a day and season. Thanks a lot Howie you witless F***.

Why would you blame the media on this?  The media is RIGHT.

When you draft a QB in the 2nd round, your starter comes under fire as maybe not being the guy.  It's only a reasonable stance.

Not blaming the media, they are doing what's expected. Hence the " Thanks a lot Howie you witless F***" comment.

I wish I could tell you I'm mad but honestly the Eagles deserve everything coming to them.

Can't wait to hear about all of our QB's development when we're giving up atrocious amounts of yards and points.

I tried watching the interview. I turned it off after "We want to be a QB factory".

Yesterday, I had his back. Today, im done.

No crap Reuben - this was a shot at Wentz. There’s no other way to look at it. Can’t believe DP went along with it. Feels like betrayal.

I feel like I’m hurting for Carson.

Can't believe I'm saying this, but if they wanted insurance or had lost faith in Wentz, then they should have just traded to bring Foles back.

No, I think it's a classic "value" pick.  In the past they've been able peddle QBs for other players, draft picks and such. Foles, Bradford, Feely etc.   Even though it's an oldler article,. I think this Jimmy Kempski article sums it up; I think this is more of a referendum on Sudfeld as the back up.  It also will push Wentz which I think he'll respond well to.  I wanted someone else too but it's not the end of the world.

It's hard enough to draft QBs in the first round. So now we're hoping to peddle pick #53 into what? Pick #44? in 2023?

We could have held a referendum on Sudfeld with a 4th rounder.

Yeah but Wentz doesn't. That's who I feel bad for.

Howie said in his PC several times Carson is a Pro Bowl QB, they expect him to win a SB, they just invested him.

Said they want to be a QB factory, talked about the QB as "value" and an "asset" and noted they've traded QBs before.  Also said Sudfeld wants to go somewhere else to start after next year so wanted to develop a backup.

Says there's no QB controversey.

Next tweet.  "Unnamed Eagles players have confided that they feel Hurts should be the starter over Wentz."

Did we take a backup QB at least a round too early? Yeah.

Is it anything more than that? Don’t be an idiot.

Let's look at the Eagles history through the past 20 years.  AJ Feeley - drafted in the 5th, flipped to Miami for a second.  Kevin Kolb - drafted in the 2nd, flipped for second and fourth round picks and DRC.  Sam Bradford - acquired in a trade for Nick Foles.  Flipped for a first round pick to Minnesota 🤣🤣

Look at the team's history before freaking out.  He'll be in the Philly QB room, he will be contributing on the field even while Wentz is healthy, he has experience running Lincoln Riley's offense, he'll be an able back up, and yes, he will likely get flipped for a first round pick before his rookie contract is up.

How does a 2024 1st round pick help Carson Wentz in 2020...?

I'll wait.

Who gives a crap if you're waiting.  The Eagles will do what's good for the team.

And for that matter, if the offense evolves with two QB's on the field at the same time, so be it.  The Eagles will do what's in the best interests of the team, period.

Even if that is true, what's the return on a 2nd Round pick gonna be? Kolb got a 2nd and a 4th and DRC. Assume Hurts has lightning strike for him like Kolb did- we fleece somebody again and get a player and a 2023 2nd and 4th. We could've just gotten that haul straight up for the pick NOW, and at least we'd have that player to see the field this year, when we're trying to load up on talent and fill a lot of holes. Hurts isn't going to see the field this year. Howie's acting like a commodities broker, trying to short OJ futures, not a GM.

plus, how do you not see the media crapstorm brewing from theQB controversy? The negatives from that, alone, make this pick assinine.

How can you defend picking a QB in round 2 as good for the team unless you think Carson is not the QB?
