Mike030270
I'm fine with it and it's a great idea... if you're doing it with 5th and lower round QBs. Not a Fing 2nd rounder

Never heard of an NFL team wanting to be something so illogical. I can see it in college. Heck some players go to certain programs, because that place is known to develop their position. What quarterback wants to come to Philadelphia to groom to never play and be a backup. Just horrible. No other way around.

YubaEagle
If you want a factory, go work for GM. Give us a football team. And more rings.
UK_EaglesFan89
Yes let's be the best at churning out QBs rather than winning titles. Let's be an NFL college.
birdman#12
So Howie wants the eagles to be a "QB factory".......the obvious question is.....WHY? If your running a college program, then fine.....but a NFL team in which the ONLY goal should be to win super bowls, why the hell would you want to produce QBs? For a team that has some real needs, this pick was inexcusable. And I've been a Roseman defender for quite a while, but this pick was unnecessary and ill timed.

I’m still pissed, like you I have defended Howie but the pick was so dumb on so many levels that I hope it cost him his job. I’m really hoping that there is something happening that we are not aware of like a tentative deal with another team involving trading Sudfeld, if that’s the case the pick would make more sense but I doubt it.
UK_EaglesFan89
As Bo said on BwF, you'd absolutely trade Reagor and Hurts for Lamb. Reagor and Mims? No. Reagor and Fulton? No. Reagor and Chinn? No. Just adds to a bad pick.

Fastest QB in the 2nd, Fastest LB in the 3rd They are of course thiking this is a pick due to Wentz getting injuried. They don' trust Sudfied or any QB in FA tha will be in the price range. Do I think it was a good Idea to take a QB in this draft? Yes and I do like Hurts. I just think they drafted one a round or two to early. Howie seams to be drafting everyone earlier then they should this draft just to get the fastest guy he can in the position. Me id would have been fine with a Fromm or Easton in the 4th and use teh 2nd one Mim, Van, or Chinn. I personally would have used a 4th or two to move up in the 2nd if you had a eye on someone. Howie's board is limited and why he going for the reach projects. This draft will be the make or break draft for Howie for sure. You don;t make these type of choices and not have consequences if it does not work out in your favor.

No trade for Sudfeld (a guy who couldn’t beat out a 40 year old) would make this seem acceptable. The reality is the only thing that makes sense is he’s Carson’s replacement. The only thing that makes sense is they regretted trading back and letting Jackson go to the Ravens over Carson. The only thing that makes sense is Carson’s days in Philadelphia are numbered.

If Carson Wentz is not an Eagle this coming season then damn that sucks and is terrible news but it would then give this pick sense. Otherwise there's literally no sense in it. We know the backup is always loved more than the starter in most cases. If they put Hurts out there on gadget plays and he’s electric it will only be a matter of time before the people are calling for more of him and less of Carson.

Other than getting a huge contract he's not been given a fair crack at things in Philly. Meanwhile Dak gets weapons galore. Freaking Mahomes, the insane freak talent, gets a stud RB in the first round when they have other greater needs. I feel sorry for Doug too. A young offensive HC who isn't given weapons to work with on his side of the ball. Meanwhile Schwartz gets what he wants.

I hope you’re right, but it feels like Howie’s been making these types of moves for longer than I can remember and he’s still here. From the fireman to Marcus Smith, the failure of the Dream team and so on. Coaches got fired and he’s out lasted all of them and most of them had their downfalls due to his mistakes. Howie was not Danny or Marcus. Andy was Danny and Chip Kelly played a major role in Marcus. Now do I think Joe Douglas and others have helped Howie in the drafts, yes. This year might have proved it. It could be his end because of it in the next year. We could call Jerry Jones to come be our GM if being a Billionare dont work out for him. he does seam to draft well. he just has issues sticking his head in the coaching and planning. You’re wrong about Watkins and Marcus. Howie made both of those moves. Howie called AR and told him”I found your guard for the next decade.” He was wrong. Smith was a complete Howie mess. Chip Kelly told Howie I want one of these six players. (I can remember only like 3 of them) Chip wanted to trade up to get a guy, but Howie refused to give up any of his precious draft capital and he assumed one of those guys would fall to them. Ha Ha was one of the Chip six and Green Bay leaped over the Eagles to draft him. From that point the Eagles traded back and panicked. They wanted to trade back again but found no offers and ended up taking that reach. That was the move that put Howie in the basement to begin with. DeathByEagle
id love to see the proof that Howie who was a ant under Reids boot was telling Andy he had the next best thing and Andy stepped aside and let teh kid make the first round pick. Dont believe that one for a min.

gregbwfc1
QB factory ? What, the Eagles are going to become a feeder club for the other teams ? Use a high draft pick to develop players for others ? Btw, the lad is an Eagle now so I hope he does well. Still a strange move .
