Special Teamer? I certainly hope so.

They’re probably gonna need him to do more than that.

Depends on how much Wallace progresses year 1 to year 2 and what they do in the draft.  If they grab someone like Moehrig in the 2nd that would likely have an effect on how things shake out.

Maybe he turns out to be better than just a ST guy. You never know.

Not sure what their intentions are, but if he was signed specifically with a focus on STs that isn't so bad ... our STs haven't been so special recently.

Yeah but no one ever says 'there's no way we make the playoffs without better gunners'

He is a special teamer  and replacement for Ford. I do not think he is our starting safety.

No but I don't think just because we signed him he is automatically penciled in as a starter.  A lot will depend on how much Wallace progresses from year 1 to year 2, what we do in the draft, and how well the other safeties on the roster show in the new scheme.  If he only contributes on STs that is still OK since those units needs help.  It does help to add pieces prior to the draft so as to not have to force a pick at a position of need, and with our cap situation we have to expect low level signings to do that.

The fact they didn't trust Wallace much last year even when we were putting walk ons in the secondary is not a good sign for his potential.

Was that on Schwartz?  He seemed to have a strong preference for certain players (Gerry, Mills, etc.).  Could be more that Schwartz didn't like the kid for whatever reason.  It is a huge opportunity for Wallace this year, will be interesting to see what the new coaching staff thinks of him and if he can work his way into the mix.  If not, just another in a long line of draft picks Howie swung and missed on (at least this one was only a 4th and not a 1st or 2nd).

Former Buccaneer.  Played mostly on STs the past 3 years.

Great, a special teams ace.

This is the biggest Eagles FA signing they will make this year.
