QB ratings last year

Flacco - 81

Hurts - 78

Wentz - 73

Eagles fans and media - ''How could the Eagles possibly give Joe Flacco a whopping 3.5 million to be the their backup QB.''

Absolutely, also who gives a flying F what they pay him for 1 year

How do we pay him 3.5 million and Jets signed him last year for 1.5 simething. Did his stock soar? Surely not because of his stats. I thought Eagles would have 1-3 pick next year now I’m thinking # 1.

please, for the love of god give him #11 🤣

LMAO, Eagles fans and media are becoming insufferable drama queens. Complaining that 3.5 million is ''way too much'' for Flacco is laughable. That's low end back up QB money. As for the lazy narrative that it's so much more than he got last year. He wasn't healthy this time last year to the point that he couldn't even pass a physical. He had to wait until the end of May to sign which means less options, less money, etc. People should really use this new invention called google and do a little bit of research before they run their mouths.

They gave Chase Daniel 21 mil and 12 mil guaranteed, but people are whining about this? I’m pretty’s sure Foles was well over ten mil as a backup too. I don’t mind this move at all. He’s not here to be the starter nor is he here to try and take the job from Hurts, but he is here to attempt to part some knowledge on the kid and help the Quarterback room. 3.5 on a one year deal seems fine to me.

Thanks for bringing some common sense into this discussion.

We are getting the number one pick because we signed a back up QB for more then he made last year? Lol. You people are out of your minds over the dumbest sheet. He played in 4 games on a crap team, his stats were fine

I honestly don’t get the outrage over Flacco or how much he’s being paid. Didn’t they pay JP like six mil last year to do nothing? 😂

It's unreal, they have to fill the team out it's not like they need that money this year for a big time free agent or anything. We are not going to be competitive but, you still have to at least give yourself a chance to at least win some games and stay in them instead of getting blown out every game . It's hard to evaluate the talent you have going forward when you are never in any game and create a losing culture

The Eagles basically get a mentor player who has won a championship in this league to help groom Hurts. It’s like having Foles, but you don’t have the baggage of who he is in this city. Josh McCown was like 40 when he signed with the Eagles and they paid him 2 mil. The best news here would be that Flacco never plays a regular season snap other than in blowout victories.

He's a tutor for Hurts.

I don't really get this move but there you go. I like Flacco I think he's a really good back up to have but I'm just not sure it was the right move really.

People were panicking earlier in the thread saying he would cost to much ...

Yeah hands up i thought he was going to be more than that.

He has a house in Haddonfield! Of course he was going to sign here...and nothing much also on the market right now.

Like I said in the blog, they need a body there. As long as the money wasn’t crazy, I didn’t care who it was. I expect a bad year either way.

Agreed. To me this very much signals that they are going to roll with Hurts. Flacco will be back up and provide that experience in the QB room.

I didn’t think this move signaled anything with Hurts. I think what they do at 6 will however.

I mean perhaps. They may well have signed Flacco to be the starter whilst they prepare the rookie? I guess that's plausible but I don't see it.

What was the right move then? Also what is there not to get? We need QBs we have 1 and we are not sure about him either.

Me either, they may not have liked what they seen with Hurts to be in the long term plans. Maybe they think he is still what they drafted him for. A gadget QB to add a wrinkle to the offense.

Yeah I definitely wasn’t thrilled either, but I can acknowledge that it was a small sample size and it’s not like we have anything to lose by using this season to see how much, if at all, he can improve his game. I don’t follow college, but aside from Lawrence, there doesn’t seem to be overwhelming confidence in any other QB in this class, and even Lawrence has his doubters. Seems like the best option going forward is just to roll with Hurts for now.

No problem with Flacco as a back up or the money, my only question mark would be how Flacco could possibly come in and play the same offense as Hurts, given he's the straightest of straight up pocket passers.

I'd almost bet my mortgage on them picking Trask now, they'll hope to get him at 70 but I'll bet Howie is prepared to trade the two thirds to get back to the bottom of the second if needs be.

I think Trask is a "if he’s there at 70, yeah!” prospect for them. Not a trade two R3 picks to take him guy. There are day 3 guys with potential for them to look at...Mond, Ehlinger, Mills, Buechele, etc.
