Trubisky is a young guy and a reclamation project, not a veteran with high level experience to play behind a young guy in Hurts. Bringing him in does nothing to strengthen the QB room and help Hurts development. Glennon is horrendous, always has been. Also, Flacco got a raise because he had to take whatever offer was left last year in June since he couldn't even pass a physical this time last year and wasn't given any offers as a result. He showed he was healthy and played well last season, and the 49'ers also had him in for a visit, thus he gets a raise. GLENNON IS FLACCO EQUIVALENT???? That is the stupidest s*** I have ever read in my life.
March 25, 20214 yr Flacco’s cap hit is only 1.56M. That is a cheap back up QB that will not stir the waters if he plays.
March 25, 20214 yr 6 minutes ago, Hawkeye said: Yeah but if you read the article that's not really what he said; in fact, he didn't say much of anything: "I'm here to play football, we'll make each other better, blah blah blah" - the usual canned response you'd expect from a guy with decades of experience talking to the media. He knows his role or he wouldn't be here. The PFT headline was misleading. Imagine that. I know. I was saying "here we go again” because the media is doing it again (just as they did last time in Denver, as you pointed out).

Got it and 100% correct. Signing Flacco is the OPPOSITE of creating a QB controversy. He's a veteran with tens of thousands of passing yards and hundreds of TDs (and INTs) who can still win games. And you'd better believe everyone was crystal clear on his role before putting pen to paper or he wouldn't be here. From his perspective he gets to play in the NFL for another year or so and pocket a few million bucks while sleeping in his own bed. Works all around.

And Nick Foles won a Super Bowl so what’s your point? Should we have signed Foles? Believe me, I’d rather have him than Flacco.

First and foremost he's here to play, "but he and Jalen will make each other better" and "they are excited about playing together on the same team" In the q.b. room lot's of things will be discussed and I'd rather have a guy that's been around making comments about plays more so than Sudfeld.

Unless the FO told him that they want him here to mentor Hurts, then his first job is to get acclimated with the system and be prepared to help this team on the field. Yeah when he inevitably loses the job if he is still humming the same tune, then we have a problem. I expect nothing less out of him right now, but he had better embrace that mentor role when the season starts with him on the bench

He is here as a 1 year back up on a sheet team. I don't expect him to give a flying eff about Hurts

And everywhere he has been he said he was no mentor, so whoever thought he would be is delusional.

Are they actually doing that though?
