Yeah that's fine and that means it would become more competitive.  Also, I'd guess a lot of white people will want to apply and take advantage of it being free as well.

This will no doubt get pretty interesting as details start to emerge.  The commission is going to have its hands full.

So many neighborhoods need help, I am glad the Biden administration is willing to work on it. I am in favor of free college tuition. I think it's a good start whether it's at community colleges, public universities, or even HBCUs, as mentioned.

"Reparations" is a loaded term. Any help must be applied equitable, not limited by race. There continues to be mention of "black neighborhoods" struggling. Yet the progress of the last few decades was to dismantle racial segregation. So how much do these relics of segregation exist, and what's the best way to reach them?

You'll have to forgive me here as maybe I'm just ignorant but I thought the entire idea of this latest push for reparations was based on race.  What am I missing?

My opinion is that will be a problem, if reparations are made solely based on race. The discussion must evolve past that, as we have worked to dismantle racial segregation. We can't go back, rebuild those walls, then distribute from there... Let's look forward instead. Why are certain communities struggling, and what can we do to help bring them along? I think higher education will help.

Stop funding public schools primarily with property taxes. Pool all the money and allocate based on student population. This, more than anything else, is what limits opportunity in poorer communities.

Let's get rid of standardize tests and the funding based off it as well. Actually teach kids skills and knowledge, not how to get a good test score.

I don’t know if this is true in all states, but in my state the dems always want to cut property taxes and the republicans always want to cut income taxes
