Although apparently 4 justices thought overturning an amendment was no big deal (looks like Kavanaugh disagreed on some kind of statute, but didn't have a problem with the Constitutional question). That's a pretty damning indictment of the court, even though sanity held the line in the end.

Exactly. They’d gain a far larger chunk in the middle or thru lazy MAGA non voters than the smaller number of left idiots that protest and not vote.

In this case, I agree. It wasn't the case with something like Israel, because the far left was on the right side of that issue. But a sports classification issue? Who gives a F. The counter-arguments to this case specifically (which usually isn't made, it's normally wrapped in some broad, random, "you're killing trans people" hyperbole) are ridiculous. It's a case that effects a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of people and it's about competitive advantages in college sports. It's an insane hill to die on.

The main argument I see time and again is that no one should care about it because it is such a small number of people affected. That actually strengthens the idea of agreeing with the majority here and taking away the most obvious trans argument from MAGA.

Trans only got attention because of the swimmer who was a man and was only average and then he changed his sex and became a dominant female swimmer. And why? Because her bone structure and muscle mass were different then biological women which gave him an unfair advantage.

Other than that, I am not aware of any Trans athlete problems in sports or in bathrooms for that matter.

I have seen men wearing dresses, with a beard, and army boots holding his small child's hand at the Acme. I thought whatever floats your boat, I wasn't concerned he may follow me into the bathroom.

The way I see it, if they want to play sports, they should have their own league. The Trans league. Open to both Trans Men and Trans Women.

@jsdarkstar The meeting isn't illegal but there's definitely ethical concerns attached to it. Meetings have happened in the past for administrative discussions and even educational purposes. Private one-on-one meetings like this always raise concerns. Maybe a brief statement from Johnson as to the general nature of the meeting would allay fears of impropriety.

But for real, I'm actually a supporter of 2A, which is one of a million reasons the 'conservative' court coming this close to nixing an amendment is F'd. But, hey if we're going down this road, then a whole bunch of sheets on the table. Then you arn't paying attention. There were lots of college women boycotting their own sport because they were letting trans athletes participate. It wasn't just swimming. Volleyball, basketball, etc. You name it there was probably a boycott.

I was thinking that too, but then Kavanaugh actually referenced the 2A within that paragraph, but in a completely opposite line of thinking.

lol does he not realize the other side of that argument? Right, semi-automatic handguns and assault rifles did not exist in 1791, so using his logic one could argue that semi-automat weapons shouldn't be given 2A protections as times have changed....
