Way to Negative

Everyone is to negative saying we are going to suck. First the line is going to be better. You possibly have 3 starters coming back 2 of them pro bowlers. I also personally think that Dillard makes a better guard and would be a great 6 swing man on the line that can come in and play either position. With the line better and a coach that gets the run game going, uses play action and the screen game (all what the colts are known for) and if we can add pieces to the defense and actually have an aggressive DC instead of a pu$$y calling the plays, you might be surprised how the team balls out.

You never know how things will come together we have way to many unknowns that could go either way but it’s much better to be positive than negative! Your life will be so much better if you look positive on things.

I thought this was a "how to" thread. I think you mean "too negative."

I actually think it's funny how people are convinced everything is bad, before it even happens. Let them cry ...

Even Howie knows they are going to be awful this year. Why else would he have traded out of pick #6 to give himself an extra first next year? If there was any thought that they could actually be good next season, they’d have just stayed at 6 and taken Chase or Pitts, who will be far more of difference makers than whoever they get at 12.

They said it's a rebuild year... Yet you people will still throw a fit if they suck. So you guys that are even positive are setting yourselves up for disappointment

We can hope the line is going to be better but we are going to be relying on players to stay healthy that all have a history of injuries.  Three of them in their 30s.  1 coming off a very major injury and the other an injurie that might be an issue for him the rest of his career.  Even the young players on that line have injurie histories in their young careers.

Dillard I have no faith in at all playing guard.  As a rookie if any player came straight at him with power they handled him like a child just tossing him aside and going right through him at will.  Even on screens he would get blown up by linebackers half his size.  He would be eaten up alive inside.

We can play an aggressive defense but with what players?  Our foundational pieces are getting old in Graham and Cox.  We have no linebackers.  We have no corners outside of Slay who like Graham and Cox is in his 30s.  McLeod is coming off a major injury and likely will start the season on the pup.  We signed Harris to a one year deal there is a chance he can turn out to be a beneficial good signing but there is also the chance that he turns out to be as good as an equally applauded signing of Robey-Coleman.  He is coming off a big down year.  Even if he does turn out to be a good signing we will still be left with no corners besides Slay, only Harris as a decent safety until a possibly finished McLeod returns late in the season and no linebackers. We play in a division with 3 pretty talented offenses.

It's going to be a rough season.  The positive will be the same as the 2016 season.  No expectations of any playoff run but the intrigue to watch a 1st year HC and a young QB to see what both can do and how they both develop over the course of the season.

Something new to complain about or just a new slippery slope to test? Either way, you need us.

It’s hard to be positive when the Eagles don’t even have confidence in their own starting quarterback.

Welcome to Negadelphia.........

Where fans and media always criticize the quality of a win. When they win, it's always how the other team f----- up, or the eagles were "lucky" and they NEVER win by enough.

Where the fans and media always have the attitude of if they sucked last year, they'll suck this year.  Few believe in player development and improvement.

Where no eagles player is worth anything in a trade.

Where injuries are simply excuses.  But as I've said, if injuries don't matter, then neither does talent.

and in the fine words of Mike Schmidt, former Phillies HOF 3rd baseman,

"Only in Philadelphia can you experience the thrill of victory, and the agony of reading about it the next day".......so f-------- true.

2020 happened, but people are already crying about Howie's 2021 draft ... you know ... how he's going to blow it, try to be cute, prove he's the smartest man in the room, mess with the fans, etc...

I don't see the need to complain about the 2021 draft when we have a decade of his other drafts to complain about.

Why on earth would anyone assume he's going to have a good draft?  But I'll give him credit for a solid trade down.

Don't worry it's never too early to call players like Reagor a bust.

This fan base wrote the book on being negative. We don’t need no stinking thread.

Yeah, I've never bought into the "we're going to suck anyway" rhetoric, with a good draft, QB play, and coaching we're right back in the mix.

Maybe he thinks pick 12 allows him to pick twice at 6...simple math right?
