He's definitely not my first choice, but not a Danny Watkins "WTF?!" kind of pick. I think if they really wanted to go Dline for Rousseau or Paye they may try and trade down a little further. There is still a feasible possibility that Kyle Pitts is still there at 12.

Kwity Paye Pro Day Highlights! - YouTube Only 11.5 career sacks at Michigan. Most top college prospects have that in one season. In average DE drafts, he wouldn't go in the 1st round. Brandon Graham was a better prospect than Paye is.

That would be so Eagles and so Roseman it's scary.
March 29, 20214 yr This is the way I see this draft going. We know that five qbs will be drafted in the top 10. We also know that there are four top receiving targets (Smith, Pitts, Waddle and Chase) and four top oline prospects (Darrisaw, Slater, Vera-Tucker and Sewell.) The Dolphins are sitting at 18. I am assuming they go WR with their first pick. But they also have a huge oline need. At 12, it will be likely that one of Waddle/Smith will be available, as well as two of the top olinemen. They know the olinemen won't last until 18. So they trade up, giving us 18 and 50 for 12. We readily accept because it is pretty doubtful any of the teams between 12 and 18 will take a WR, and even if they do we can draft someone like Bateman or a top defensive player. I like how this draft is shaping up. Being at 12 is going to be really good for us, because there is a huge talent dropoff in the offensive linemen between the fourth and fifth prospects, and Miami needs oline help and has the draft picks to move up in the first.

More and more reports coming out that Pitts is the best pass catcher in the draft.

They drafted three OL in the first four rounds of last year's draft and while their OTs didn't play well, they're young and developing. Guard could be in play and Vera-Trucker and Slater played tackle in college but many project them as guards in the NFL. In a lot of mocks, at least one of those two will be there in the 15-18 range. So I think the fins could afford to be patient as they don't need a young tackle as much as they do guards. Unless, they're higher on one of guards than scouting project. I could see Pats or Cards moving up to take Mac Jones (Pats) or one of the CBs (Cards). That would make sense for the Eagles if they get good value.

Those Idiots. I criticize Howie as much as anyone..But I am not blinded by my hate when he does make the right moves. In defense of Howie, he had such hunger to get us the Super bowl.. that he traded most of his draft ammo away for free agents. He was forced to gamble late for the positions of need , and the results are bad. However not since 2005 do we have 5 picks in the first 4 rounds, as we do this year. I think we will do alright in the draft..and My choices would be a top OT sliding down, or CB to pair with Slay, or Paye DE, or maybe Waddle WR.
March 30, 20214 yr 4 Qbs are going in the top 10. Pitts, Sewell, Chase are also going in the top 10. = 7 players are out of reach. If staying put at 12 that possibly leaves: (Not necessary in order) Slater OT, Surtain CB, Jones QB, Horn CB, Smith WR, Waddle WR, Farley CB, Paye DE, Once the draft reaches 9 ..that is when we will be looking for who is still available and within reach. We could utilize some late round picks to move up, or pick up up more resources if moving down. If trading down a few more spots..: I like Newsome CB, Bateman WR, Harris RB. The only player listed who would be doubtfu is Jones QB, because it is the year of Hurts. All other prospects are talented in their own way.

The national media and even announcers during games this year were destroying and mocking Howie for bad drafting and lack of young talent on this team. It's a national punchline now. Howie made good trades and FA signings to help contribute to the SB winning team. The rest were Reid's draft picks, and Frank Reich's coaching. The offense declined after Reich left. And with older vets injured or wearing down, Howie's poor drafting is on display.
March 30, 20214 yr After listening to the inside the birds pod from today I am pretty convinced of the following things -The Eagles aren't taking a WR at 12 -The pick will be one of Surtain, Horn, Paye, or Slater

You had me until you named your trade down targets and listed a RB. We have a higher chance of taking Parsons then a RB in R1. I think Javonte Williams is a target, Khalil Herbert, Rhamondre Stephenson, but Harris or Etienne? I just can’t see it.
