I think it is unethical to skip the line to get the vaccine. But ultimately the point is to get the vaccine in as many arms as soon as possible. If we only give it to elderly/sick people confined to home most of the time, what's the point?  It might as well go to healthy people that are going to be in contact with others too. So I guess I'm indifferent.

In Maryland, it seems our problem is a little different... We have plenty of sites up and running; there is a ton of capacity here to get more shots in arms. They aren't getting enough of the vaccine. Whether it's a local site, a state site, a pharmacy... They're all demanding more vaccine.  It's having enough vaccine manufactured and getting it shipped out to sites that's holding things up. Everybody who I know is vaccinated here got it through work, unless they are retired. What companies are doing different to get it, I don't know...

At the end of the day: Do what you got to do to get vaccinated.

I see where you're going with this.

Try peanut butter.

Yeah I saw Wolf's tweet earlier.

This is the timeline, I am skeptical that Bucks will actually meet it.

I feel you there.

Currently working on a big site.  An old Giant that’s vacant.  Been rented and people are working 24/7 to have it ready.  If we actually GET the vaccine from the State, we’ll be ready to go.  At this point, it’s the State who will uk it up for Bucks.  1st hand knowledge, brah.

I heard about some people I know getting the vaccine and I was surprised because I didn't think they were in group 1A. Well, apparently they're not and just lied. I refuse to do that but was wondering what the general feel is here and if anyone has actually lied to get a vaccine (for example, saying you're a smoker when you're not).

Jumping in front of the elderly and people with pre-existing conditions to take their potentially life-saving vaccine when you have a much higher survivability rate? That sounds morally wrong, but it's tough to be sure.

I think it was wrong especially in the beginning.  Jumping in line in front of a senior is bad.  I waited to register for a bit (Feb. 22nd) and just got my appt. email (Mar 29) so it's starting to get a little better.  Only over a month's wait, and not 2.

A couple of years from now, we aren't going to be sitting around comparing everyone's vaccination cards: Wait, you got vaccinated in January? My granny didn't get one until March. And I had to wait until May... We're all going to be like: I'm glad we're all vaccinated and that catastrophe is over!

Now let's go buy some Microsoft products!

It's so disorganized in my state people have given up and it's a free for all.  Everyone is constantly refreshing the website to see when new appointments come up.  People clearly feel that they have waited long enough.

They give them to smokers before front line and elderly at this point does it matter if they lie about it?

Nah, I will hold this judgement over everyone's head. EVERYONE!

That's courageous for you to admit right here on the EMB. Well done. I read that the average person has gained like 30-40lbs. I thought that was crazy, I've found I have had more time to work out since the pandemic. I guess it's the sitting around and eating for most people.

I’ve gained about 10 pounds.  The hard part for me is the schedule.  We took our son out of daycare, and the wife and I both work.  So we basically work in 3 hour shifts back and forth alternating watching him.  So i work from 5/6am until 9.  Watch him 9-12.  Lunch put him down.  Work 1 till whenever he wakes up (usually around 3:30). And then whoever has more pressing deadlines that say between me and my wife continues working for a few hours and then we switch after that.
Soooo that leaves very little time for exercising.
I actually was losing weight in the beginning.  When it was my turn to watch my son at 9, I’d put him in his little push car thing and go walk on Kelly Drive, doing about 5-6 miles.  And then we’d do it again in the afternoon.  I was walking about 8 miles a day.
But then as he was getting older he didn’t want to do that anymore and just wanted to be outside and play, so not as much movement for me.

We recently bought a Nordic track rower, so now just have to be diligent about carving out time, even if it’s just 30 minutes, to go in the basement and do it.
