Now that I've lived down here for 3 summers, I love that Ocean City beach is dry. I can go anywhere to drink, it's a much better environment for "family time" with the boardwalk being dry. The difference in people between here and Seaside is night and day.

I believe the newspapers here said it was voted the best beach in NJ. Point Pleasant is/was nice(been a while since I've been there). I rented a place two blocks from the beach on Arnold Ave when I was younger, we had fun.

Judge: it was the ‘ultimate act of betrayal’ | CNN The worst part is the family wants mercy on the child's mother; even though they did NOTHING to stop this. They know she is mentally challenged yet never once tried to contact her for the entire incident. They should have been talking with her EVERYDAY and when the contact stopped, they should have called for a welfare check. I also blame all those people who must have heard the baby crying for DAYS, and did nothing.

I think OCNJ being dry actually hurts them. I think they need to make a compromise on one area here. It’s one thing to want to be the "family” shore town and to not have bars. That’s fine and with the boardwalk they have will certainly attract a market demographic that nearby sea isle and Avalon won’t hit. But, to not allow restaurants to be BYOB or to at least serve beer/wine is a mistake and actually hurts their ability to attract families and hurts their restaurant business. Young single adults aren’t going to a nice restaurant to get plastered. So it’s not like allowing that would somehow translate to a young drunk party atmosphere they are trying to keep out. It’s families going to a nice restaurant who want to open a bottle of wine while they enjoy a nice meal.

One such spot is Dockside Kitchen. They have a limited number of memberships every year. We had a membership for two years. It was great! Good food and BYOB right on the bay.

Oh OC is certainly super popular and always packed. I just think their restaurant industry gets hurt by not being allowed to sell beer/wine and not being allowed to be BYOB.

Would be nice to see that extended to all restaurants and not just to membership ones.
March 22, 20241 yr Author That was one of the attractions of OC, going to the shore with the family. The drunken teens & college kids I can do without. I liked it being a dry town. It did not bother me at all, but I was with the wife and kids.

But in the 20 years since, the state's childhood obesity rates have risen to nearly 24% from 21%, reflecting a similar, albeit higher, trajectory than national rates. During the pandemic, the state obesity rate hit a high of more than 26%. So, no.

April 12, 20241 yr Tennessee legislature debates first cousin marriage Bulso admits his grandparents were first cousins Quote Earlier this month, Bulso said during a House session that he would "with a little bit of sadness" support the first cousins marriage ban. He then recalled, unprompted, the story of his first cousin grandparents marrying each other after moving to Tennessee. "My grandparents came over to this country through Ellis Island in Italy back in the 1920s," Bulso said. "And they were first cousins... So, back in 1924, they actually came down to Tennessee to get married... But for the existence of the current law, I would not be here."
