For people unfamiliar with Delta 8 THC, it is (for now) a legal form of THC derived from hemp. Last night took 50mg of some edibles I ordered online last week and was shocked how similar the effects were compared to regular weed (Delta 9 THC). I have a moderate tolerance from long term weekly use of regular weed so was not expecting much, but now I am fully sold on Delta 8.

Are the dosings comparable? Because 50 mg of regular THC would hit me like horse tranquilizers holy sheet

They have a big community on Reddit and can help weed out the crap companies.

I tried some in brownies I bought online and definitely can feel them

They say Delta 8 is half as strong, which may be true for vaping. I can't comment on that part as I have not opened any of the carts I had ordered. But for me the dosing is comparable in edible form as I normally take 40mg of regular weed.

This is a pretty popular cookie and reputable.

Same place where I got my gummies. A lot more affordable compared to Delta 9 edibles. Even more so if you make your own, which I plan to start doing after ordering 60 grams of distillate.

I am confused how delta 8 gets around legal issues. Is it really legal in places where marijuana is illegal?

I hear delta-8 is less potent than delta-9, what we typically think of THC. Also, the entire industry has regulatory issues. I am skeptical if you get what you think you are getting.

Does it show up on a drug test?  Asking for a friend.

I mean why is salvia still technically legal in some states? The government is inept.

It became legal in that big farm bill a few years ago.

The site I posted and xBMTx bought from is the best available and good quality control.

I wouldn't risk it.

But really if you wanna spill secrets get someone drunk, not high.

What recipe do you use?

Haven't made any yet, but plan on doing a simple fudge recipe like this one from Alton Brown and infusing the distillate towards the end of the process.

Will still show up as THC on drug screens.

Just bought some gummies and will give an update when try them out.

So I have read this is a really mellow, relaxing high. Also that is lasts a bit longer than a tradition edible. Very good to help with sleep. Any thoughts or comments from someone who has used it?

Delta-8 is not legal though.  The DEA has recently said as much.

What the DEA has to say has not stop Delta 9 THC use.

50mg put me to bed very nicely last night. Some people say it has less anxiety and paranoia effects compared to regular weed.

That is not the point.  Delta-8 is not naturally occurring in the plant and is being marketed as "legal" due to the input ingredient being CBD isolate from hemp.

I just got 4 packs of the gummies. I am a very bad sleeper, I'll try anything. My wife gets very bad rapid heartbeat and anxiety from regular edibles. I'll report back with how it effects each of us.

Does this increase appetite (give the munchies)?

I just bought some thanks for the thread!

I'd imagine they would. Anything that give you that relaxed sleepy feeling makes you hungry

That will all depend on the terpene profile of the hemp plant. With cannabis, a number of strains are appetite enhancers but there are a few strains that are actually appetite suppressants.

So you cared enough to post, just to say you don't care? Odd.
