Is there a point to doing these if weed is legal in my state? Different kind of high or something?

Dude, is your weed made in Flint?

Indica and Sativa are two types of cannabis plants:

Any weed or edibles purchased legally will indicate if its Sativa/Indica/Hybrid and what the THC content is among other things. Sativa boosts your energy levels so some people can be prone to anxiety/panic attacks. This isn't a "one size fits all" thing though so some people experience it while others don't.

If you're still confused between the two....

Usually if I have a few drinks with any type of weed/thc balances me out. I do nothing legally lol. Well I've been getting different stuff online

For me I would stick with regular weed if it was this easily available and legal. Although I have read some users on reddit prefer Delta 8 over regular weed because of less paranoia/anxiety. I can attest to that. Some also say it is less sedating and gives a more functional high. That is true for me at lower doses, but at higher doses of Delta 8 it can be very sedating for me. But really the only way for you to know is to try it yourself.

Word. Thanks for the info. Guess I'll have to try both.

That's helpful, as I've mentioned, I'm looking for something that will help stimulate my mother's appetite. Chemo has taken a toll on her eating. The only issue that she's had with Delta 9 (we haven't tried any Delta 8 yet), is that it makes her dizzy. Dizzy enough that falling is a real concern.

I took my mother for chemo this morning and stopped in at a CBD/Vape shop to see what they sold. Pretty much whatever I would want, from gummies to vape cartridges to... I guess it's called 'flower'? Many of the Delta 8 items, right behind the counter, 15 minutes from where I live.

So I got a bottle of gummies to see how they do. 500mg total, 25mg each. A bit pricey, maybe more so than that website, but for a first 'test' try, I didn't bother worrying about cost. If they work without as much of the dizziness, then I'll see if it's cheaper elsewhere.

If you try the "Numb" ones for sleep, can you give a quick review or opinion on them? I was gonna get a pack but didn't think 12.5 mgs of THC would even go anything, but having tried the regular gummies I am reconsidering that opinion.

Tried a Numb this afternoon and really didn't "feel" it but much more relaxed.

I think it would be a great alternative for people that don't want to feel hig, but still some relaxing and a bit of sedative properties.

I was gonna get that, but I saw that it was THC/CBN which reminded me of when I lived in San Francisco a few years back and some products were THC/CBD combos, which is fine if you're not looking to feel too high.  But hell...I'm in it for the full on head high.

Although I don't fully understand CBN, I'm getting the impression from their description that its effects are similar to CBD??

"CBN is a degradation product of Delta 9 THC with minimal intoxication and is reported to be great at providing calming sensations and nighttime relief."

Hmm...maybe I'll skip it then. The regular 25mg gummies make me pretty sleepy after a couple hours which is fine

CBN is actually more potent than CBD for relaxation.   High CBN is responsible for "couch lock".

In reality, just about everything available today is a hybrid of both strains. You can make tentative assumptions based on the genetic dominance of indica/sativa in a given strain, but they often have more in common that they are different. A lot of the experience has to do with other cannabinoids and the variety of terpenes contained in the plant. For example, myrcene is typically associated with the sedative effects of cannabis, and it is found in high concentrations in both Sativa and Indica varieties. At the end of the day, everyone just has to experiment to find their ideal kind of weed, but at least starting with indica-dominant varieties sounds like the route for this guy to take.

I don't look at thc levels anymore, but the terpenes %. Anything with a terpene level over 4% is the good stuff. Are over a 100 different terpenes, but these are the main ones.

I took mine a couple hours ago... I'm not sure how I feel about it, I just kind of feel blah. Like I'm not really sleepy or high.... Just meh lol

I Fn hate the names of these strains. It's like weed skipped right over it's "pbr, miller, coors" naming stage like beer had and jumped right into "purple monkey dishwater, and sweet baby jesus" craft beer names

And trying to remember what I had and liked is impossible because I am high hahaha

I had Gorilla Glue #4 and will wreck you on that list.

GG4 is a great strain.  I've had Girl Scout Cookies (GSC), Green Crack, Pineapple Express and Sour Diesel.  There's so many cross breeds that build off the original strains.  Hard to keep it straight.

Took another Numb around 11am today and I definitely still feel it now, 3pm. Definitely shocked how much I can feel it and might have to give it one more try at night.

I've been told that prerolls don't work nearly as well as gummies.

This is a pretty popular cookie and reputable.

Does it get you high like a joint?

Speaking for myself, I find smoking to be immediate, but short term. And gummies to take 30-60 minutes, but last longer.

Anything ingested is going to last longer than being smoked. It's also a stronger effect and typically a more psychedelic one, I believe this is partially due to absorption but also specifically because THC is converted in the gut to a more psychoactive derivative.

So are these things any good? More interested in the type of giggly high where I can chill and play video games, but being a first time edibles user, should I get these 25mg watermelon ones and eat like half of one?

25 mg sounds like a lot, but I don't know. I'd think definitely no more than half for a first dose. Lots of edibles are dosed out in 5 mg chunks. 10 is usually enough to set most people with regular weed pretty nicely if their tolerance is low.
