Last cig I had was on Saturday night, right before the Giants ballgame.  One step at a time I suppose.

I hope you keep it going, one step at a time.

Sadly, we lost another fan as my mom passed away yesterday after a three year battle with stage 4 lung cancer. As expected, she hung on knowing I was going down to SC to visit her for the holidays, and then after enough suffering, she let go yesterday around 1:45 pm. I imagine many who have experienced this with their own family fully understand the whirlwind of emotions as you’re always sad to lose a loved one, but also feel a sense of relief as well when you know their final days were spent in misery. There is obvious sadness, but much grief was spent before she passed knowing the end was coming.

I’m not a religious person, or even a believer in a higher power, but I do know she is better off right now. I just wish the Birds could have given her a better final couple games.

We'd be happy to remember/honor her with our prayers, if you allow. What was her first name, EJ8?

Sorry EagleJoe.  I lost my mom to a long battle with cancer 10+ years back.  So sad but good to have them free from the suffering.

Thank you. That was definitely the hard part. I miss my mom of course, but there was relief she wasn’t suffering anymore. My sister told me she was in a lot of pain towards the end, but she never complained.

I am here to report Baltimore Bob is still alive (if anyone here remembers him).

Trott's wife passed from breast cancer.  Sad RIP

"It’s with a heavy heart that I must tell you my BEAUTIFUL Wife lost her battle to breast cancer yesterday,” Trotter wrote. "Please keep my family in prayer as we battle through this difficult time. Thank you and LOVE YALL’.”

Trying to find out about Thorny. He disappeared from Social Media. Last I heard, he was having some medical issues.

Just wanted to share a link to a very special guy.  A fellow lifelong fan as well.  You don’t see too many like this.  He was 100 yrs young, a true inspiration.  Sending him purple flowers from my family to his service.

Been a while since I've been on here. I joined back on 2005 in my second to last year of high-school, so I'm sad to check in and see some regulars who were a big part of this community have passed on. I always knew I was one of the younger ones, but always enjoyed mostly lurking (sometimes posting) and just generally feeling like one of the gang.

RIP to those who we lost, and I hope that time finds the rest of you and your families in good health.

Go Birds.

I just saw this.

Did you ever find out?

I was always hoping to see him pop up on here.

Can't find anything. I know he was done here. I believe he also deleted himself from FB. One of his last posts was talking about some medical issues. Nothing since then. He had just moved into a new house and got a new guitar.

Some people just like their privacy at some point.

Hopefully he's just jamming away

Praying for those we lost there. Not forgotten however always remembered!

To put it in the manner of the Star Trek canon - They are not dead, so long as we remember them.

Best Sister Ever!!!  My heart is broken.  F cancer.

Sorry for your loss Di.

So sorry @DiPros

Thank you.

I was just looking when I posted in another thread --it was exactly 31 days from the latest progression diagnoses to dead.  It was exceptionally fast and nasty.  We think the spread had started back in May (likely earlier) and it took them until July to figure it out.  Seems absurd given her cancer history!

We are so happy that she was in attendance at my daughters' wedding.  I did end up telling my daughter 2 days before because she asked what was wrong.  We are like the same person. She knew something was up.  There is a photo of her walking down the aisle and she reached out for her aunt's hand.  It's a beautiful photo.

I don't know what else to say except I am devastated.  I left about an hour before she passed. They all had covid too, so had to garb up and it was very uncomfortable.  I took my mask off when I would lean over into my sister's ear.  I asked her to please punch Mr. Di in the face for me when she sees him.

I asked the doc for a couple of pills to get through her services this week.  I really can't let my children see me totally fall apart.  I also rely on thoughts and prayers to keep me upright.  Everyone around me has been so supportive and my house looks like a florist shop.

This breast cancer is NOT in our family.  No BRCA or any other genetic mutation gene was found in either one of us.  Now our children will be monitored early. I threw my aromatase inhibitor pills in the trash. I did my time and there is no way to know if I am getting any benefit whatsoever from extending the time anyway.  So, bring it. I'm still in a bit of disbelief that she's gone and I'm still here.
