So if he projects as a 3-4 OLB were most likely looking at a special teams guy for us or are we running a 4-3 under scheme now?

I posted it because of the Derek Barnett comparison. That comp doesn’t really make sense to then project him as a standup 3-4 OLB.
Usually when I hear the 3-4 edge projection, I assume an undersized player for a 4-3 DE OR they have the ability to drop back into pass coverage.

I grade this pick an B

If he was more defined on where he fit in our scheme this would be a higher grade. At a 7th round pick, he is great value. If we played a 3-4 I can see this as a steal. He is not big enough to play DE for us. Not sure how good his coverage skills are to play OLB. He is a very nice pass rushing OLB though. Good run plugger as well. He will be a nice situational player for us to start.

Yeah between him and the safety/lb we got late both seem to be able to come down hill hard they have a chance to make it and do something in situations.

At this point I have zero idea what Gannon is going to run for a scheme.  Heavy Cover2 team with some Cover3/1 mixed in?  Heavy Cover 3 with a bit of Cover2 mixed in?

4-3 over? under? 3-4? 4-2-5?  Is he going to just be super flexible based on match-ups and morph the D through all those options?

It is making it hard to figure out where these tweener guys are going to fit.
