this will be full of generalities but the vast majority of sports fans are men....and most men don't enjoy women's sports.  well, unless there are hot chicks involved like beach volleyball or a handful of female tennis players & golfers over the years. i know that's very un-woke to say but it's damn true.

Same. And Women's water polo. That ish is the best

The best chance they’ll have to get people to start watching, is when the trans d00des take over the league in a few years.

Am I the only one that saw the WNBA commercials during NBA playoffs blaming people for not watching the WNBA?

I’ve tried to find links to them to post here, as they’re an important part of this discussion, but haven’t been able to find any.

I changed the channel when their commercial came on to find more entertaining commercials.

Why are men afraid of the WNBA?
By Graham Hays

There is no "I" in team, and there is no "Y" in basketball. No Y chromosome, that is.

The idea that only men can produce enjoyable professional basketball shoots right past the absurd and knocks on the door of offensive.

Not to come across as a raging feminist, if that's physiologically possible, but the biggest problem most men have with the WNBA is that it scares the heck out of them to see women invading what has long been predominantly male territory.

See, there's the niche market.  New slogan:  "The WNBA:  We give new meaning to scoring in transition!"

Women prefer to play below the rim.

Playing with balls until they shoot.

Here's my WNBA story...

Back in 2000 I was stationed in Korea. We used to have all kinds of washed up celebrities come by and put on free shows for the troops for morale trips. Naughty by Nature and Boyz 2 Men came for concerts, Some pro wrestling thing came featuring the Bushwackers, and a few WNBA players came one time to put on an exhibition with the crowd. There were 2 ladies from the Phoenix team. One was a WNBA all star and the other was this short hair blonde that played for the Australian national Olympic team. There were a couple other WNBA all stars but I don't remember what teams they played for. First they had a free throw and 3 point competition with dudes they pulled out of the crowd. I played on the base basketball team and ran in pickup games every weekend so I knew who could play on base. I didn't know the people that volunteered for the shooting competitions but they lost. Then they took volunteers to play them 3 on 3 half court, 2 guys that played on the base team with me and another older guy who ran in Saturday pickup games went up to play in the 3 on 3 game.  They played first to 21 wins and the guys won by a score of 21-18 or something like that.

So bottom line is some WNBA all stars and an Olympian lost in a pickup game to some above average regular military dudes.
