I dont think it matters if he a DE or OLB. He will be a practice squad guy at best.

Fair. But check who grabbed him. Our boy Joe Douglas. I have a feeling Higgins and Mims are going to be pretty damn good. I was more surprised for the move up with Aiyuk though. Didn't see that one coming. Curious to see what the 49ers do with him.

Aiyuk fits what Shanahan wants more than Higgins and Mims, same as Reagor did for us.

I guess. The receivers seem very similar especially now that they got rid of Goodwin. Got rid of Bereida too. I thought he was a nice complementary guy. Oh well. Back to Toohill. He seems to have the physical chops. Needs a little more strength and work. I wonder if he'll show enough to make the squad. We do need some youth on the edge.

Think we need to see once and for all this year if Sweat, Miller, Hall, Ostman are good enough.  Toohill will be in the mix as well. Gonna be some nice competition. 

 

Practice Squad guy?  Watch any game of his and realize he's only just recently a starter and will only get better.  I see edge speed with the ability to bend the edge and a final closing gear to finish.  A big time motor to go along with that edge speed and a seldom used spin counter.  He sets an edge and is able to shed and make a lot of tackle in the run game.  He's got great length and speed and the shoulder width to add on good weight in the future. 

  On the negative he's a bit stiff moving laterally and is more of a go forward type just like Mike Mamula was which works for a 4-3 DE but not so much for a 3-4 OLB.  That's fine for us.  He stalls out when bull-rushing straight on and needs to add a speed to power game.  Adding some more good size and and some speed to power technique I think will maximize his talents.

I see a super active guy who's in the thick of things a ton,a real edge threat and a non-finished product who will only get better.  That's a 10/10 round 7 pick.

Yeah PS guy. He's a limited player who's good at getting after the passer but not good in the run game.
