Vincent never had a chance at that trophy with Mia as his partner. Talk about trying too hard.

If you tell anyone else I said this I’ll deny it but, up until a few days ago I didn’t realize Miller was female. Doesn’t matter at all to the plot but thinking about Brand with another woman makes me happy.

You saw Brands haircut, right?

The new Mission Impossible movie takes inspiration from some unusual places!

Saw Mission Impossible last night. Non spoilers.

You don't need to rush to see it. There really isn't anything special that would be spoiled. It's got the usual plot devices in the mission. It's very long, almost 3 hours and it didn't need to be. There's some stuff that's too over the top, some stuff that recycles almost exact things they've done in prior movies. The main stunt sequence is insane, I always wonder how the heck they film those things, knowing Tom likes to do his own stunts.

I think this whole entity thing got away from typical plots they've done. I liked 1, and 3-6. 2 was garbage. 3-6 were what Mission Impossible should be. It's also time for others to do the stunts and hard stuff not always Ethan. I really liked Ilsa, they should have kept her. Every movie there's new leaders giving him missions, they should have had consistent leaders over IMF. Every movie they are shutting down the IMF and he goes rogue. It's like Jack Bauer in 24, 1 man goes against all odds to save the day and his government never trusts him and is always trying to arrest him. I'd rather they flip that and just recognize they need the IMF and Ethan and his team, and just support them, let them fight the enemy not always their own government at the same time. That goes old when it's every movie.

I think they need to take a break after this and regroup. It's a bit like Marvel after Endgame, where do you go from here? They should scale it back to movies more like 3-6 and also have others do more of the action not just Tom.

That sucks

Mickey 17 - Streaming on Max. What a bizarre, yet not unenjoyable little movie. A bit over the top at times, especially Ruffalos part, but still pretty good. I get what Ruffalo was going for, I just don’t think he was the right person to pull it off.

My favorite part of the enter movie was the ridiculous dive scene. It was incredible to watch on imax.

I haven't been able to watch a MI film since I watched the ridiculous motorbike fight in MI:2, the entire franchise just passed me by.

I watched A Working Man on an idle Sunday afternoon, Jason Statham plays Jason Statham cosplaying Liam Neesom. Absolute standard unchanging Jason Statham set up of, he's a working Joe who happens to have years of special forces training and something happens which results in him having to kick loads of peoples asses.

Imagine the Beekeeper bumps uglies with Taken and the resultant offspring is this way overlong and repetitive movie.

2 was awful. John Woo made it a guns blazing action movie and went for style over substance with late 90s slow mo shots. It wasn't much better than Charlie's Angels. I recently rewatched all of them leading up to the new one, and I couldn't stomach watching 2 it was so bad.

Give the rest another try. Part 3 saved the franchise and brought back mystery, twists, and spy thriller with good action. Parts 4-6 are the best movies in the franchise IMO, 5 being my favorite. Tom worked with Director Christopher McQuarrie on a number of movies, and he started helping with the script (uncredited) on part 4, then took over the franchise eventually and has directed the recent ones. They got more mature and took inspiration from the modern James Bond movies. They captured what the MI movies should be. And some of the stunts are incredible, especially knowing how much Tom wants to do his own stunts. 7-8 took it to another level of epic scale, and are presumably the end of the franchise but we'll see. They're not may favorite and I don't know about rewatchability compared to 3-6, but still good.

MI:2 could have been 45 minutes long without the slo mo. It was just bad.

Felt like half way through it just forgot what it wanted to say.

Netflix movie, but should be in theaters.

This looks fun

John Wick 4. Can't get past that "Cane" (nice name) is the guy from the Hangover. 🤣

Should have made a thread. This movie was awesome

She did a great job

How to Train Your Dragon live action was surprisingly good. Didn't think the dragons would work with it being a live action but they did a good job

For a Wes Anderson movie The Phoenician Scheme was pretty funny. I kept falling asleep with Asteroid City. Phoenician Scheme had some great humor

F1 was pretty good. Saw it in IMAX but I imagine seeing it in Dolby Cinema would be awesome

Technically the rookie vs vet story has been played out but they did well with it. Some good humor too
