Re watching the Scream series on part 2, the fake movie Stab they show in the beginning used the song Red Right Hand which was so popular in Peaky Blinders. I would have never remembered that until after seeing Peaky Blinders. Just a fun random fact.

Haven't watched PB, but Scream uses that song in the original as well, I believe when they are doing establishing shots of the ton going on curfew before we get Sidney and Tatum shopping for snacks for that evening's massacre.

Ah, cool. I haven't watched the original in a while, I've seen it so many times I skipped it this time. Hadn't seen 2 in a long time. I recently watched Scary Movie the spoof. The Scream sequels got progressively worse and campy as they went on.

I remember getting some random at the movies to get us into the theater to see scary movie lol. Sheet was hilarious. Haunted house with Marlon Wayans is also historical.

Scream 4 I thought was a great return to the franchise and the one with Anora was also solid. The most recent one (I think they lived in NYC) did not impress me enough to where I have not revisited it yet.

I watched Scream dozens of times as a kid, and in what I think was Summer of 2000 when Scary Movie came out, I was staying with my dad in Key West for summer break and I remember one of his friend's girlfriends took me to see it because she was also interested and I would have been 14 at the time. The way they basically remade Scream (with some IKWYDLS mixed in) was great, and I don't think I had any experience with spoof-genre movies at that point so it was like a newfound way of making a film for me.

Weapons - Fascinating movie. Not even very scary but that last 20 minutes, holy hell.

I asked ChatGPT to list the shows and movies that use the song Red Right Hand.

Films

📺 TV shows / Series

  • The X‑Files — Episode "Ascension” (1994) uses the song during Duane Barry’s car ride. Wikipedia+1

  • Peaky Blinders (2013–2022) — the song is used as the theme (and various covers across seasons). Wikipedia+1

  • Jack Irish — Listed as the main theme song. Wikipedia

Just watched it and thought it was horrible. Especially that chase scene with the kids. Turned into a comedy lol

Yeah I don’t know how it made that much money. Started strong as F, then about halfway took a nosedive.
