Posted June 8, 20214 yr Not sure when I should start to worry that I did something wrong, or that the IRS is just too busy BUT I sent my return in March. Give it to the end of June before I start jumping up and down? Y'all know how I love to jump up and down!!! It's a refund this year plus I never received the last 2 stimulus payments. Jesus it's a lot of money. WTF!!!! Mr Di received some more mail which I think is just hysterical over a year later. One is a bill for $60. co pay for his 1st visit with the oncologist Nov. of 2019. Um, no. Not paying that. In fact, I'm quite sure it's probably paid but I simply refuse to look it up. His file is closed, I don't want to look at it anymore. The other day a check came from some place I've never heard of and it seems it's an insurance claim refund of like $25. and the check is made out to him. WTF am I suppose to do with that? I don't think the bank will accept it. I'll try and if they kick it back I will just return the check. Finally, I hope--- I will be getting a whooping $1,300. from my mother in law's estate. Funny to use the word "estate" when it cost thousands to place her in a nursing home, they were renters, didn't own any real estate, yet somehow there is $11K left being divided evenly by 9! I'll take it. Too bad it doesn't quite cover the $2K I spent on hiring a care coordinator and I recall Mr. Di paying their 1st months rent when he moved them out of a 2nd story apt to a ranch, and bought them a dryer. I know. I should just be grateful and STFU. I know rich people's estates sometimes take years to settle. I just want to be happy being poor and settled. No more mail for dead people. It freaks me out.
June 8, 20214 yr I hope this isn't in bad taste.....just trying for a little humor......go do a change of address at the Post Office for Mr. Di from current address to Heaven and see if that helps?

June 8, 20214 yr I think they're just busy, and it's sitting in queue Di. Funny that you bring this up, our accountant submitted our return in early April, and we haven't heard anything either. I just emailed our accountant late yesterday afternoon to ask him to look into it. Last year, we submitted a corrected return in May, and didn't get our refund until December. Other people I know are getting their refunds in a couple of weeks, though.

There's a reason they're trying to hire 60 thousand people. You can check the status of your refund on the IRS website @DiPros. https://sa.www4.irs.gov/irfof/lang/en/irfofgetstatus.jsp I got mine in like a week but I filed back in February.
June 8, 20214 yr since NPJ took down FansHelpingFans, maybe we could rename CVON with FansHelpingFilers and put those nutjobs to work.

It freaks me out. My dad's father passed in summer 2016 and his step-mom later 2016 or early 2017. Then my dad passed June 2017. It took until Oct 2019 for his estate to be settled and me get the balance of his liquid equity ($24k I think, though I had likely spent equal to that amount out of pocket on my own end over the years keeping things maintained). Then got his house sold in March 2020 (after an initial Jan 4th or so Closing dragged for another 8-10 weeks). He dad/step-mom who pre-deceased him HAD a Will, but there was some drama with their estate (that I don't really know details), so that didn't pay out until July or Aug of 2020. My dad and I were each named separately (out of something close to 9 people as well) and I sent court docs from FL to the lawyers for my grandparents indicating that I was the sole-recipient of my father's estate, so I wound up getting a double-payment which totaled almost $15k. I just know everything took forever and it was a pain and wild still how many bills or other items will show up long after someone is gone. 10 minutes ago, rambo said: IRS is incredibly short staffed. I thought that was because they're getting ready to audit everybody, because they now have to find a way to pay for their spending spree.

Some of it is for a shift towards auditing the big corps, but they literally are sitting on months and months of unopened mail. For the crappy pay they offer good luck to them finding employees.
