Not sure if they're all Kims vocals. If so then pretty impressive

Since the Foo Fighters are prolly done...... I thought..... go lighter ?... go heavier?.... go somewhere totally different?..... different it is......

Music is so bad nowadays you're better off trying to explore lesser known bands from genres you like.

Music is maybe better than ever because there is SO F'ING MUCH great stuff from lesser bands of genres you like.

Music is nowhere near what it once was if for only one reason....... Pro tools.

Too many chuckleheads out there that really do not deserve to be......( not saying I was better ) Pro tools software edits a litany of sins in recording.

Best example to understand it all is two of the Foo Fighters documentaries

1 Sound City

2 Back and Forth.

Years ago I had a run in with protools......  A friend had written a bunch of music and asked me to play bass guitar on a few tracks........ (  Which I don't play guitar anymore due to arthritis )

Anyways there was one particular song where no matter what I did I kept playing 1 note wrong....... The engineer explained to me it was no big deal that he will fix it in editing with protools......Personally  It had the opposite effect on me...... I was extremely humbled and forced myself to learn and play better.

I hear and see way too many musicians nowadays use it as a crutch.

My friend's band was recording with a very famous engineer back in the early 2000's who just got done mixing a Brittany Spears album.

Their singer was dealing with some vocal chord issues and was embarrassed that he couldn't hit some notes he normally could and had to rely on autotune.

To make him feel better, the engineer played the isolated and unmixed Brittany Spears vocal tracks for him.... He said it sounded like some drunk chick doing karaoke.

Aye...... apologies for a the long post....... just no other way to explain it...... before 1985..... there are tons of artists today that would not have made it without that stuff..... it has its place... but it is being used to create talent when it's not really there.

I'll argue with anybody that the music industry peaked in the early-mid 90's.

Every genre of music was on fire... Rock, hip hop, metal, R&B, Country, Punk/Ska, Classical, Pop, Club, Latin

There even were hits in crazy sub genres like Opera (Three Tenors), Irish Dance Music (Michael Flatley),  Gregorian Chanting, New Age (Enya, Enigma), etc.

It's really hard to do anything fresh and original in the Hardcore genere, but that is definitely it.

I’ve heard their concerts are kind of crappy.

Just saw these guys for the second time this year last night at XL live in Harrisburg.  The energy at their shows is unmatched

Been on a kick listening to albums rather than playlists lately and one album I've been digging on again is Primus - Antipop. These 2 are tragically underrated songs

interesting history on this song; italian pop singer wanted to try a social experiment centered around how the english language sounded to non english speakers so he wrote a song with words that sounded english but were actually just jibberish. song came out very early 70s.

almost sounds like early rap. tell me you don't hear

  1. Eminem's Without Me
  2. TLC's Ain't to proud to beg
