As was I. I think he was a perfect option for this team. It is possible he didnt want to stay here though due to getting more carries for another team. However now Dolphins traded for Breida so he is in the same situation.

no team is going to make Howard the feature back. He is a nice compliment to a 3 down back but , how much is that worth? You can get guys like him anywhere. I would of liked to have him back but, at a minimum

I think the Eagles may have picked up their Jordan Howard replacement in undrafted free agency:

Michael Warren II from Cincinnati

5'9 and 226 lbs

"Burly, interior runner who faced his fair share of foggy boxes and early traffic but used footwork and contact power to create yards for himself. Warren's touchdown production is a product of build and running demeanor. While he lacks the burst to consistently gain yards outside the tackle box, he should be able to keep doing his thing between the tackles thanks to vision, footwork, balance and power. He has pass-catching talent and can be activated as a basic route runner, but isn't trustworthy enough in protection to secure third-down duties. He has a shot as an early down backup with short-yardage ability who can grab a catch here and there."

The Eagles have had good success with unheralded players from Cincinnatti (Brent Celek, Jason Kelce), not to mention undrafted RBs (Corey Clement). Could Michael Warren be the next?

Can’t forget Trent Cole.

Absolutely! And I agree with every comparison you just made. Still the thing is: Fournette is a star, and to have two stars at this position, like we have at TE - is valuable.

Even more so when they complement each other so well as Sanders and Fournette would. Just epic!

For sure, Fournette would be a beast here but I think it will come down to whether the front office would be willing to take on his cap hit to join the RB rotation, not to mention the draft compensation that it will take. My guess is that the Jaguars will want at least a 4th round pick for Fournette given his production (similar to the Jay Ajayi trade with the Dolphins). Since he's a 1st rounder, the 5th year option is in play so it's not like we're necessarily trading for a 1 year rental, but it's going to be pricey since Fournette was the 4th overall pick in 2017.

I love the talent, but don't think the Eagles pull the trigger here due to cost considerations, both in cap space and draft capital. Jay Ajayi didn't take up that much cap room when he was traded to the Eagles, but I guess the counter-argument is having Miles Sanders on a rookie 2nd round contract and Boston Scott on an affordable deal means we aren't spending too much at RB to begin with so it can be justifiable.

I'm curious to see what the Jags end up doing with Fournette.

Maybe you are right, and RB is a position with not too much value. If you ask me: I'd do it for a fourth, gladly. But let's see how it plays out.

Oh yeah I wouldn't do it for much that's for sure. I like Fournette but he's a RB with continued health issues.

Would you do it for Rasul straight up?

Absolutely. But I have had this idea of Fournette in our offense for a long time now. He had a really good season, and his potential and age is excellent.

Agreed. As a #2 as well especially with Sanders seeing most the carries I really like the idea. Fournette is the kind of RB this team really needs.

I don't see him as a #2. If he came, they would be a duo. The rest then is matchup dependent.

I'm not so sure. He's got injury concerns and I think needs to be managed accordingly. Plus Sanders is a special talent.

He missed some time, but had a really good rookie and last season. Don't forget how bad the situation is with the Jags. And how much they relied on him. Other teams loaded the box and he still got it done. Fournette is just as much a special talent as Sanders is. And like I said, they are very different and compliment each other.

Thing is: Even though he got a lot better catching it, that is not his call sign. He is a mauler that gets you the hard yards. Now we fans always knew that we needed that, and we saw RBs like that help us bigtime. But I am not so sure if our FO really understands we don't need an offense with only pure pass catching RBs..

Last year they had Howard, the year before they had Blount and in 2017 traded for Ajayi. So I think they do understand the need for a bigger more physical RB.

Howard and Blount, yes. Ajayi never was a bruiser in my book. He's more an agility type.

That said Fournette is just way better than Blount and Howard.

Ajayi was pretty dam physical I'd say.

Let's talk about the big picture. Imagine we did two more big moves, in this example:

1) trade for Fournette and sign him to a deal

2) draft a WR in the first in 2021

I took Ja'Marr Chase, who will most likely be long gone. But think of him as an example. In this scenario the Eagles have altered the traditional X into a hybrid Y, means a bit smaller (6'1") but very fast. This serves to stretch the field on both outsides while putting strain on enemy defenses. All the while the middle opens up for our RBs and TEs and slot WR. I see both JJaw and Ward thrive in the slot under these conditions. We would be set up damn well on the skill positions with young players.

I love the idea! I mean I can't see us taking Chase, I think they will go back to high picks in the trenches but oh boy if we went that route that's one hell of an offense that mostly are still pretty young.

I like how (except for Fournette and Ward) these are all drafted by the Eagles, too.

I def like this dude, and would be comfortable giving him a spot as 4 or 5 RB.

However, I want them to get a 6'+ and 240 pound bruiser also.  Someone cheap, who cares about speed.  Sanders should get bulk of touches and Scott should get a few looks also.

You don't trade for a guy with that talent and make him your #4 or #5? Plus we shouldn't be entertaining carrying 5.

Are u on crack?

i was talking about the UFA RB the dude posted a vid of

sanders and Fournette would split it 50/50 but I think it’s a waste of a high pick to trade for him

From all I have heard, it could well be a day three pick. Obviously I think it's well worth it and would give even more to get it done, but hey..

If they can steal him for a 6th or 7th rounder fine

But Sanders is going to be a stud

This RBBC BS needs to come to an end

Sanders should be getting bulk of touches with Scott and another guy sprinkled in

I don't think you give up draft capital for Fournette. Plenty of similar, albeit mildly less sexy, options available in free agency.
