The best thing for the Jaguars would be to cut Marrone.

They already did.  He's already gone through waivers (unclaimed).

31 teams passed on him at his salary. that should tell you something. that said if the eagles can get him at a better price and he leaves his attitude in jacksonville, i'd be all for it.

To people who actually watch Jags games -- how would you compare Fournette to 2017 Blount?

I feel pretty smart for telling people this bum had no trade value.

No.

No

Talent wise Fournette is better I would say but Blount seemed a hell of a team mate for this team in 2017.

Not even sure why Fournette is even in discussion. He isn't coming here to be in a committee and the eagles obviously like sanders alot and fans what a feature back yet still want to be in a committee when Sanders can be a feature back

Oh, the assumptions...

"He isn't coming here to be in a committee..." -- How in the world do you know that? No team claimed Fournette, so whichever team he goes to will sign him to a discount contract. From a business perspective, Fournette wanting a feature back workload (250-300 carries) on a discount contract makes no sense.

"...Sanders can be a feature back" -- I agree, but do you really want Sanders getting a feature back workload all season? The Eagles had interest in Carlos Hyde because they wanted more of a true #2 RB to take the load off Sanders and move the chains to put away games. Just to be clear, I don't think the Eagles will sign Fournette, and I honestly don't know that they should because I don't watch Jags games. But if he's as good as 2017 Blount, and the team finds that the attitude concerns are overblown, why not take a look?

I just don't see Fournette playing the Blount role here. I think he's going in with a chip on his shoulder to prove to another team that he can be a very good RB1, and will probably decline offers from teams that just want to improve their RB2 spot.

In one of the articles I recently read about Fournette, he did mention being upset when the Jags lost and took more time than others to "get over it". That doesn't seem like a guy who is a terrible teammate; it sounds like a guy who actually cares about winning games. The Dolphins are probably out of the running, while the Bucs probably have a good shot with Brady and co.

Tampa makes a lot of sense.  In state move to Team that might be able to contend, that also has a questionable backfield.

Called it.

I think that's fair and I think he's got every right to feel that way. He's still got his best years ahead of him and he's put up impressive numbers in the NFL. Sure he's had injury issues and that's why he can't demand top money but he should be looking to go somewhere to be the RB #1.

Good move for him. That's a team with a potentially good offense and he's got a great chance to be the #1.

Probably pushes Shady off their roster (even though initially they are saying it won't) which will mean another round of "sign Shady" threads here ughhhhh.

You think? I think the two compliment each other but then I guess they have that Ronald Jones don't they? Or was that Washington? My memory is going.

Yes they have Jones who was (and reportedly still will) serve as lead back.  You expect your 3&4 RBs to play STs, hence the assumption Shady gets released.

Yeah that could be a fair assumption actually. Fournette isn't going there to be the #3 I'm sure of that.

Impressive? He is hardly average he was the number 4 pick!! He cleared waivers.  He only missed 1 game last year and 3 his first year and still only has 2,190 yards and 12 TD. He missed 8 games his second year from injury and suspension for a piss poor attitude. He is a major bust.

Compared to where he was drafted team I do absolutely agree with you.
