Went to lowes in hazleton.  Probably a 2 hour line to get in literarily across the whole front if the store outside. Wasn't gonna do that.

Took thre trip to wilkes barre, home depot had a line,  but that lowes was not counting people.  Right in.  Got some thread tape for the hose spigot. Got some top soil to fill in the craters left by cutting down a giant oak tree in the yard.  And got some drainage rock to fill a ditch made by rain water across the drive way.

Did those 3 jobs.

Took the kids out for some power wheels riding.

Bagel bites for dinner :excited:

Then we all took a walk through the hood.

That's it.

Ugh.  I need to do a lowes run soon.  What time of day did you go?

It was around 10am. Yeah that line was insane. It was worth the trip 30 minutes away.  I think I probably got there,  got my stuff and got home before I could have even got in that store here.

Our Lowes does not have a limit on the number of customers inside, but the parking lot is PACKED every weekend, like even busier than normal.  A buddy went yesterday with a trailer to get a bunch of stuff and there was only 1 spot he could pull through with his trailer in the entire lot.  I've been doing curbside pickup and getting lumber from 84 Lumber which has curbside pickup because I don't want to go into the big box stores due to how crowded they are.

I've been to a few home improvment stores the past week and had not had an issue.  Being that said, I need to do an early run tomorrow to pick up supplies and I have not been to our local one.  Our county is more locked down than Atlantic County NJ where I did my shopping and I can see there being a limit on people

what's the drive behind the rush to box stores like lowes? surgeon general states a plywood facemask can cause irritation.

here in SA we can stroll right in: super easy, barely an inconvenience.

Also my neighbors apparently got a goat this week.  nothing like trying to chill out back on my patio listening to music while that motherFer is making loud goat noises.  It might end up on the wrong end of one my guns.

i remember my first house in SA proper back in early 2000s. my neighbor had a mini 'farm' that included an actual rooster. this was an older subdivision, not the country.

ratted him to the city who informed me that i needed to shut my big city ahz up, the ordinance allowed for small farm animals not exceeding so many pounds.

so i bought a fox.

Kubota?   Nice tractor.

I grilled on Sat. pulled weeds.  Mr. Di unable to manage much so any sort of real chores is "on hold" in my mind.  I am only doing the bare minimum around here.  I asked him if he would show me how to use a circular saw, um he said no.

Up early to make breakfast for my kid’s Mom. It poured last night and the ground is soaked so, no lawn work today. Bloody Mary’s and Mimosas all morning. Here’s to Sunday morning and coming down 🍾

Made brekafast for everyone.

Gonna go for ice cream around lunch time.

Mrs HE wants some kind of steak from Damon's for dinner.

We finished Dead To Me season 2 last night but I fell asleep so gotta re-watch 2 of those episodes tonight.

Watering my straw in a wind storm.

Went to get more, from Lowes while getting furnace filters. Their "large" was half the size of the Halloween bales and 10.99/unit.

Needless to say, going back to the farmer 8 miles outside town. F that. Twice the size for 1/3 of the price.

I got a recommendation to go get the horse food from tractor supply a few years ago when I planted my lawn. I did that and it was way cheaper sold as an animal product.

Though, I suspect it resulted in a few weeds also getting mixed in. Not sure they took care to keep weeds out since it wasnt specifically for lawn care. Not a big issue since it was easily taken care of with a SCOTTS routine. By the following summer I had a spectacular full lush weed free lawn.

Peat moss is also an excellent alternative. Cover with about 1/4''

Yeah I'm not expecting this to be one and done. But 38 cubic yards of soil later... just glad to have a flat yard, and (as we are one block south of the local Botanical Gardens), cover the tree roots in the front yard for a few years. So cheaper is fine with me, it will probably be until next year before we see truly beautiful lawn.

But that's a great idea on the straw. Peat moss is just a mess, at least this ends up being my neighbors' problem when it all blows away 🤣.

Grilled up some big cuts of filet mignon, made crab cakes with a horseradish sauce, mashed TATERs and green beans for mothers day.

Good come down from deep cleaning the house with the kids yesterday for the wife.

Finished the lighting in the basement and drank beer.  Then cooked up some steaks while drinking beer.  Watched some tv with schmoopie while drinking beer.

The smells coming out of me this am do not smell healthy

Sounds like it ended up on the wrong side of one of your neighbors

i'm hip. i'm actually talking to a scale operator at one of our quarries about replacing her decking (advised composite), converting said upper deck to allow drainage from patio below, and adding a good sized bump out to allow for a larger bathroom. she loves the advise and wants to know when i could start. 20 years ago, sure.

I tried that today. Work has literally phoned me 9 times and I’ve been texted by 5 different people on multiple occasions throughout the day. I should have just went in, this is worse! (Im not really even that essential)

I'm still going in to work everyday but my weekends have been super lazy. I've binge watched so many series. I finished two seasons of Castle Rock in about 8 days.
