June 14, 20205 yr This is the extent of my Sunday... Got some homemade burgers ready for the grill. Sheet yes!
June 14, 20205 yr I was doing more drywall work but oh damn, I ran out of joint compound. Shucks. Switched over to some wiring projects. The one I'm finishing up now is just a little pet project I threw into the remodel. We have a decent sized storage area in the back of the basement lit up by a single little light in the center with one of those cheap porcelain light fixtures: I'm replacing that with 4 Halo new construction recessed light cans. Just on the off chance that I decide to drywall the room last minute and try to make the space "finished"

When I worked at a cemetery in high school we used sand under the stones to help level them and keep weeds from pushing them around.
June 28, 20205 yr Author Up early and having some coffee and trying to get motivated for yard work. Hoping to get to the garage and clean it out a little...I bought a 1973- 3 piece Craftsman tool chest from an estate sale last week for $200 and it was full of tools (and I found a hidden 1973 Penthouse calendar in the top!....SCORE!!!) Hope you all are happy and healthy...have a great Sunday morning, coming down. 🍺
June 28, 20205 yr Stayed up till 12 last night finishing a smoked chuck roast for the race today. Buddy's coming over in an hour to go fireworks shopping with me, then it's smoked meat and NASCAR
June 28, 20205 yr I got 25 bucks on Kyle Busch to win. If he finishes top 5 I get the money back. I got 10 on Hamlin to win as well. Wont get that back if he doesnt win. Will be at the pool most of the day with my boys. Will check on the bet later. No way I can watch NASCAR. Also have to cut grass at some point.

I took +1300 odds on Blaney this morning...$20 to win $260
June 28, 20205 yr finished church; fired up grill for slow cook small boston but pork soaked in root beer & rub my son made. debating another Eagles game or finishing this POS novel i started. either/or, more Dobel Tequila today. Mayor used the amber alert app to tell everyone to stay the f*** home last night. i hadn't done the food shop in a week so raced out to local Super Fresh (called **** here) expecting to stand in line as the masses panicked. Nope, was just about dead. Did keep looking back a couple isles as i shopped to see if i had beaten the hordes in but nope, texans (which i guess i'm now one) gonna be texans.
June 28, 20205 yr Had the MIL at the house all weekend. Unfortunately, she has MS, so my wife and I have to take care of her a good bit. Grilled some burgers this afternoon and turned on the outdoor TV to golf and it looks like it's gonna storm here in Charlotte. Finishing up a great whiskey right now thanks to some suggestions in the whiskey thread!
June 28, 20205 yr I dont watch NASCAR. Having Ky Busch and Hamlin looks pretty great right now. How in the bag is it? Not at all?

June 29, 20205 yr Im good. I had 10 on Hamlin at +400 as well. So I wont win 100, or get my 20 back that I put on Busch. But Ill get 50. Still 20 bucks profit.

Had an offer to bet on Hamlin or Busch to win- Whichever I chose, if they didnt win but finished in the top 5 you get that bet back (up to 25 bucks). I used that promo on Busch with a 20 dollar bet. He crashed and didnt finish top 5 so I lost that money. I researched the past winners of the Pocono 350 and saw Bush won 2 of the last 3, but Hamlin's name was littered all over that list. So I put a little wager on him too. There was no promo on that bet. But, he won. $10 at +400 wins a $50 payout. In total I bet 30 dollars. (10 on Hamlin, and 20 on Busch) And had a payout of $50. So profited $20. Heres the bet slip Does this make sense now?

Just on the off chance that I decide to drywall the room last minute and try to make the space "finished" I forgot I posted about this. Turns out I was way, way wrong. It was one of those light fixtures\junction boxes: I didn't discover this until I already tore the f'r out. To make matters worse, this was the first jump from the fuse box to the rest of my basement, laundry room and garage. So instead of just moving the wire from the switch from the old light to the new closest corner light, jumping to the other 3 and maintain the original switch, I had to do a ton of rewiring. On the plus side, I was planning on doing the same project in my garage and sure enough, that was next in the circuit and had the same damn fixture. And unlike the back of my basement which is nice and open, this would require me to tear a bunch of holes in the drywall of my garage. F it. Next owners problem. Today? Helped my father in law with his remodel. And by help, I mean, I'm basically his special little helper because he forgot more about home improvement than I hope to know in 5 lifetimes. Today was installing cabinets and putting up some shiplap. Spoiler This was the "oh s... we didn't measure right and had to remove the left trim" moment Repurposed some cheap wall cabinets for this. Doesn't go all the way back but f it, its a cheap solution for this remodel for a beach house.
July 5, 20205 yr Author Picking up the remnants of all the "rockets red glare” and "bombs bursting in air” from last night. Crap all over the cars and yard. I have the kind of hangover that makes you’re forehead pound if you bend over for longer than 3 seconds. A handful of aspirin and some time in the pool will do a body good. Here’s to you America! Happy Sunday morning, coming down. 🍺 (I have $20 on Harvick and another on Almirola today at the Brickyard)
July 5, 20205 yr OCNJ vacation tomorrow. Ran around this morning for a few last minute things. Taking the kids swimming next. After that, will touch up the detail on my car. Hit the back yard with a bug treatment because theres a bunch of grass spiders again. Then will get myself packed to go.

July 12, 20205 yr That doesn't sound THAT bad. Like when you get to the section that says "When a female coworker does a good job, a proper reward is a firm pat on the bottom", you can just delete that s***
