Agree, though I won't judge the unmasking without giving someone a chance to explain the rationale. I don't understand much about the process, but I believe an unmasking request would have to come from the top of the organization. Without knowing the actual nature of the communications, I can't say 100% that the unmasking itself (if it actually happened) was inappropriate.

If the NSA leaked the emails to reporters? That's horrific. If any credible evidence substantiates that fact, then everyone needs to be investigated.

And to be clear -- random unsubstantiated claims by a TV personality are not credible evidence.

There are like 20 people who are allowed to request to unmask the name. Rumor is it was Jonathan Finer in this case.

Yes, devil is in the details, but let’s be real here — he was asking for an interview, and then a friend/reporter comes up to him at a funeral and reads his emails back to him. I can’t imagine a circumstance where that happens and it’s all on the up and up.

Did they find them on Hunter's laptop? I knew that crazy eyed computer tech had an ace up his sleeve all along!

And this is the part I doubt, given the fact that Tucker Carlson is the one making the claims. If numerous reporters got this leak, then it will come out at some point. If it doesn't get confirmed, then it's just more lies from Mr. Flash Drive.

Exactly. I mean, it's not like Carlson hasn't burned people before with this type of nonsense.

I mean, let's play out how this likely will go.

1. No one will independently substantiate Carlson's claims that the emails/communications were leaked to reporters

2. Tucker will claim that he has evidence and will reveal it on his next show

3. Tucker will go on the air and say that while he has evidence, he doesn't want to share it because it would jeopardize the source that gave it to him

It's like watching a TV show recycle an old plot...

Never forget:

But then Carlson suddenly took a step back, noting that they were still "assessing” the documents in question, which he maintained had been verified "to be real” and did not come from Bobulinski. He went on to claim that he has received an "awful lot of documents” about Hunter Biden recently but has "not aired” many of them, insisting he has tried to stick to material involving his business dealings that could relate to his father.

"There are a lot of documents about Hunter Biden’s personal life that we haven’t brought to you and we are not going to and we will tell you why,” he said, noting the obvious reason that Hunter is not running for president.

"But Hunter Biden is a fallen man at this point,” Carlson stated, adding that he once knew the younger Biden well.

"I never thought Hunter Biden was a bad person,” he concluded. "I thought he had demons but in the time I knew him he kept them mostly under control. At some point, he lost control of those demons and the world knows that now. He's now humiliated and alone. Probably too strong to say we feel sorry for Hunter Biden, but the point is pounding on a man, jumping on, and piling on when he's already down is something we don't want to be involved in.”

So he totally had all that info, but he's a good guy, so he didn't release it. Makes sense.

Seriously. Tucker Carlson has zero credibility.

He habitually makes outlandish claims with zero evidence or basis in fact and relies on the news cycle turning to not be held accountable for outright lies.

Doesn't necessarily mean everything he says is a lie. But only motivated reasoners and confirmation bias addicts would buy a damn thing he says without strong evidence to back it up.

There's a lot more smoke in these inspector general investigations uncovering Trump's weaponization of the DOJ against political opponents. "Quick, Tucker, report something incendiary that shifts the focus!"

So, this is a bombshell, right?

So the NSA is spying on a journalist and leaking private emails to other journalists. Do we have fascism yet?

First ishlib to tell me why this is not only not a big deal, but also a good thing wins a prize.

Something almost everyday with this guy.   If nothing becomes of this, will the delusional people that still watch him realize he has zero credibility?

Why would this episode be any different?

Please provide examples of his numerous "outright lies."

Tucker is like Buffalo Bill from Silence of the Lambs.

I mean, what do you want? The NSA to admit it leaked the information? Nothing will come of this until we actually have a significant power shift in this country. Right now the intel agencies have been weaponized by democrats. That much even bootlicking ishlibs can admit.

Oh so I missed the part where you posted proof that the NSA leaked emails to other journalists?

 What the hell are you talking about?  They want proof that what Tucker's saying is real and not just "this buddy of mine totally told me this at a party".  No one but the weirdest cult members would take the word of Tucker Carlson on this.

Tucker's the last honest man in mainstream journalism. If he said it, it's true.

Yeah, after everything we've found out about the NSA and government surveillance of american citizens, the one thing we could be sure of is that this could never happen. There's just no way. Describing you as a member of the dumbest cult on the planet doesn't even accurately describe you. It's like the cult is also a masochist club where bootlicking is your specific fetish. A little graphic? Sure. But it's accurate.

  Holy sheet.  I realize you're playing it off a couple posts up but you actually flat-out believe Tucker Carlson with no supporting evidence.  Dude, that's embarrassingly sad.
