Perhaps they see increasing costs to keep Tucker on air, there isn't much more of an audience to gain, they've tapped it for all it's worth, so what is ROI to keep paying this guy? They ask him to renegotiate. Yet there is a lot of money in the propaganda Tucker shills. So maybe he gambles and thinks he doesn't need FoxNews anymore. He will take his audience wherever he goes. So he doesn't play nice with Fox. Whatever happened, it went down quickly.

Then again, it comes from a clear alpha male, so I'm inclined to believe him.

Trump's name and brand doesn't help. But like you said...he's got a cushy bank account to fall back on, and likely just as much power as any politician.
