September 1, 20214 yr Oof. From a pure political standpoint... Democrats couldn't have asked for more. There's no bigger issue that will drive independent and Democrat women to the polls more than a full on abortion ban.
September 24, 20214 yr Author be careful what you wish for. it's Iowa; Grassley may be preferable to whatever Trump-cuck is lined up for the spot. in an ideal world he survives long enough for the Republican party to bury Trumpism. though I'm not that optimistic.

Assuming Grassley doesn't subsist exclusively on Taco Bell and adderall, I have little doubt that he'll outlive Trump but he'll still be on hospice care by the time his term's up.

Outliving Trump isn't the same as outliving Trumpism. I'm not even convinced that Trump himself can control his sycophantic base; it's taken on a life of its own.
October 5, 20214 yr Might be interesting. They should work to convince the Democrats not to nominate anyone.

Since it’s not they’ll nominate an unworthy candidate who will siphon just enough votes from McMullin to re-elect Mike Lee.

A Dem never has a chance in a state-wide election in Utah. But it’s winnable for McMullin.

Once they're in and sell their votes to special interests in exchange for campaign contributions, their war chests are so big they're nearly impossible to defeat.

The only reason that someone like AOC could defeat Joe Crowley is because working class people of color made up such a big percentage of the district. There’s a reason that AOC’s primary win was news - it’s exceedingly rare.

She also had the luxury of running against someone who was so comfortable that he didn't think he needed to spend money on the primary.
