Looking forward to 2024... big red flags for Republicans.

1. Favorable election landscape for Democrats.

2. DeSantis vs. Trump will drive down Republican turnout in a general election. There is, legitimately, 5-10% of the U.S. population that believes Trump has been ordained by God and will never vote for anyone but him.

Senate is much more favorable towards Republicans in 2024 I believe.

They're not the biggest group, just the loudest.

The problem is that the GOP leadership (sans McConnell) are weathervanes.

And yet Mitch blinked when he had his only real shot.

Remember when illadelph told us Democrats we're "sheeting their pants" over Oz entering the race, then he lost to an open socialist who had a stroke during the campaign despite massive financial contributions?

Good times.

I look forward to Zuker bringing up my post saying the race was over weeks ago.

So PA didn’t elect a Jersey guy who roots for NY sports teams?

Honestly I don't see Trump getting the nod again.

I think after this disaster of a midterm for them plus the general vibe I get from rank and file GOP, people are tired of him.

He will 100% be the candidate

He can't beat Biden. That's obvious. It has to be obvious to republican party leaders. They probably won't do anything about it, but still.

The leaders know it but they are powerless to stop it.

100% agreed. Trump isn’t King Midas, he’s King MidASS, everything he touches turns to ish.

I thought the same when I woke up.

I hope this is a message to the GOP to take off the MAGA hat.

These morons don't understand messages, they only understand how to double down to own the libs.

After this election?  Hardly.  The donor class of the party will see that he is shown the door.

His endorsements only won in safe R districts with the exception of Boebert who is in real danger of losing. And goid riddance if she does lose.

The outcome of this election shows that even though the Dems are vulnerable, the Reps going full crazy leads to terrible outcomes.

Add the fact that the split Congress plays to the Dems as it will stop the bulk of their policies that could get them in trouble with the electorate.

Now if you are right, then the Republicans are truly lost or they think they don't want to feed DeSantis to a woodchipper situation.

Sure, sure, I've heard it all before. The fact remains, the rank and file of the GOP have been unwavering in their support despite everything that has transpired, including blatant attempts to subvert democracy, domestic terrorism, pending legal turmoil, and at the end of the day, they still took back the house here which will only strengthen their resolve. Make no mistake, in their disease addled minds, this can still easily be spun as a "win" so they'll continue to march down their own path to destruction. They aren't grounded in reality, they live in a fantasy world. Don't believe me? Ask a majority of the party if Biden won the 2020 election fairly. That has been your answer for the last 2 years and counting.

It will be Trump as the GOP candidate in ‘24. That ship has already sailed long ago. MAGA getting their asses kicked in the midterm won’t change that.

100%.

People still seam stuck on the notion that the Republican party is a political party that will operate in its own self-interest and not a cult.

You're damn right we do! Grown locally too.

I've been to a Walmart a couple of times. It's about where Pa is.

The question is: What's the over/under of this potato surviving 6 years?
