I think you're equating loudest section to biggest. Anecdotally, people on the right are tired of him and MAGA as a whole. I think people are equating GOP leadership being a weathervane to being hardcore MAGA. The more time goes on, the less of an effect Trump will have.

I think people are equating GOP leadership being a weathervane to being hardcore MAGA. The more time goes on, the less of an effect Trump will have. The majority of GOP voters literally still believe Biden didn't win the election fairly. Mind you, we're also basically headed for another Georgia runoff to see if the Dems can keep 50 seats in the Senate, so even if Warnock wins in December, we're still talking about squeaking by with the slimmest of margins, not a wholesale beat down that would force GOP voters to reconsider their entire identity. I know many of us don't want it to be true, but the reality is that Trump has an absolute stranglehold on the party and will continue to be its leader for the foreseeable future. And let's not kids ourselves here, DeSantis is still 100% MAGA, he's just not as old and incompetent (which makes him more dangerous if you ask me.)

Georgia runoff looking very important to keep the Senate at 50/50. Looking like Masto in NV might have some late life left in Clark County. Who knows... but not ready to say she's dead yet.

November 9, 20223 yr I was #1046. Had 3 in line and 0 in the M-Z! I too would like to be optimistic that the GOP dismisses MAGA and stops the madness of lies and get with the show called reality. It seems some of them are trying.
November 9, 20223 yr Looking good, but I ain't dancing yet, the Democrats need to win two out of AZ, NV, WI, and GA to maintain control of the Senate.

MAGA getting their asses kicked in the midterm won’t change that. To the average gop voter, this wasn't really an ass-kicking though, at least not on the surface. The average gop voter doesn't look at the point spread, they don't know that the GOP failed to cover, they will just look at the final score, and right now that score says the GOP took back the house and is still in the running to take back the Senate.

The house stops the blank checks. It'll have to do.

His endorsements only won in safe R districts with the exception of Boebert who is in real danger of losing. And goid riddance if she does lose. The outcome of this election shows that even though the Dems are vulnerable, the Reps going full crazy leads to terrible outcomes. Add the fact that the split Congress plays to the Dems as it will stop the bulk of their policies that could get them in trouble with the electorate. Now if you are right, then the Republicans are truly lost or they think they don't want to feed DeSantis to a woodchipper situation. Lets hope so. It will require and actual plan and more importantly a single candidate to organize around
November 9, 20223 yr Leave it to Lynched to start low-key wishing for an elected official's death right after their election.

I'm not sure. Fox News has already started labeling this as a disaster for the GOP. What will be telling is the election post-mortem.

When did the leader of the party radicalize dems into domestic terrorists and attacking the Capitol while Congress was in session? When did the VP of their own party have to go into hiding because he lacked the courage to do a madman's bidding? When did half of the party still believe an election was faked with Chinese ballots and rigged voting machines 2 years after the fact? No, dumb ass, there is no equivalence to what the GOP has become. It's a cult through and through unlike anything we've seen before in American political history.

Looks like Kelly will hold in AZ, so there are the 2 seats. NV could go either way, but looking at the governor's race may go to the GOP.

They'll change the messaging soon enough, just like they did after 2020. Remember that they weren't all in on the big lie right away, they even cut away from Trump's victory declaration on the night of, but sure enough they slowly acquiesced over time.
