This is like losing monday night football against a division rival. But you have a team full of scumbags like the cowboys or chiefs, so you dont feel great about them either.

Not a painful loss. Next one is more important and hopefully this helps the republicans get their act together in time.

The 2024 general Is already lost barring something bizarre

not enough time to dilute the trump-stink especially since he wont stfu

The only way the GOP "gets their act together” is if they rebuke Trump over the next two years. I wouldn’t count on it.

Honestly, it's obvious what needs to happen. McConnell and other sane Republicans need to start pressuring people like Meadows and others to turn on Trump and get him indicted for the good of the party. Play chess, not checkers -- work with the DOJ to end Trump and let DeSantis ascend.

this. please.

rid this party of this scum and let him take his dna lapping losers with him.

Mostly agree, but I think DeSantis would fail on the national stage. His personality is "a less likable Al Gore".

I think Kemp has legs, but he might need to work on softening that accent.

Yeah I saw it. It’s a good first step, seeing that the Post has been extremely Trump friendly over the years.

Even in this scenario, I'm not sure it's enough to hand the nomination to DeSantis. Despite everything, Trump is still branded as the anti-establishment outsider, and he'd easily frame that as McConnell and Meadows colluding with radical Democrats to keep "the truth" from coming out.

F that.  Let DeSantis and Trump have a full out war for the next two years.

You are so used to losing I'm sure you are numb to it by now. Good for you, Sport!

There are quite a few Republican governors with potential, but DeSantis is the biggest threat to Trump’s hold on the party by far. Hence why he’s already been calling him Ron DeSanctimonious in some of his recent speeches. Giving Trump the nom in 2024 is a waste. He can not win nationally. Even putting aside his toxic personality, is HE the one that will swing moderates and independents? He’ll be as old as Biden is now and at best is a one term President. The GOP has to see this.

yeah, desatan is wildly popular in florida...but it's florida.

"Donald Trump has warned Florida's Governor Ron DeSantis against running for president in 2024, saying doing so would harm the Republican Party.

He also threatened to release unflattering information about the 44-year-old, without providing details."

Yeah, the Repugs always doing things to try and rig the vote, or suppress the vote.  Dems, let everyone who can vote cast their vote.

You know it is a fact that the more people vote, the more Dem votes there will be.

He's the one people are talking about 2 years ahead of the next presidential election.

In 2014 he would have been Chris Christie.
