Certainly had me questioning things. I didn't know a single person changing their Fetterman vote but they were really pushing that narrative.

I had a lot of back and forth with friends and family groaning post debate, but agreed, no one changed vote. Just got really nervous after that piss poor showing.

the polls completely missed gen z.

Oh crap was there an election? Forgot to vote

Looking pretty much like it will be the GOP in the House and the Dems in the Senate.  Boebert is going to a recount.  The one left I'm hoping for is a Lake loss.

If they continue this type of turnout the GOP is screwed.

Yeah, I'm still holding out hope that Masto can pull out a victory. I also hope Hobbs wins.

Looking good. Still lots of votes to come from Clark Co. and Washoe.

Republicans know that broad elections are decided by Democratic turnout, so I guess the idea was the discourage the left (which isn't hard to do, honestly) and make them give up (which is obviously harder to do).  It didn't work and it was risky because it set their expectations too high, but that was probably what they were aiming for.

Honestly, I thought it was to lay the groundwork for a new "stop the steal" narrative. Claim the polls all said GOP was winning, so Dems must have stolen it. They didn't count on guys like Oz actually conceding.

There were a few surprises like Oz that give one a tad of hope.

I'm still confused what that actually accomplishes in the long run. It's not like they eventually get the seats.

Serious question: do you actually find these funny?

Not one bit.

Didn't think about that, and you could be right but that's just insane, because it banks on you losing the election.

Yea I feel like for years the adage of not relying on the youth vote had held true, but sure seems like that trend is tapering off in the last two elections. Dobbs certainly was a motivator for young women.

Masto has pretty much already won.

Have new numbers come in?

I disagree.  Before the stroke's effects were seen, Fetterman was poised to absolutely route Oz.  And there was a good reason for that.  He was a great candidate.  Obviously, after people started to realize that the stroke had taken a toll the equation changed and it was just about holding on and defeating the snake oil salesman, but the base of support was there because he resonated with a lot of people.  It's a shame too because Fetterman was one of the only viable rising stars in the Democratic Party.

Watching Shapiro on election night makes me think he also has a bright future. He's a very good orator, has a good track record, and appeals to independents and even some republicans. I think he could pull of a successful presidential run in 2028.

Down by just over 8k with a lot of mail in ballots to be counted, which have been breaking very blue.

A Lake loss and a Finchem loss. He's the loon running for secretary of state in Arizona who has said he will just throw out all of the votes in 2024 and give Arizona's electors to Trump. He's currently losing to the democrat by 5.5 points.

I still haven't seen much in the way of how many gen z voters actually turned out relative to other mid terms.

I know they voted overwhelmingly D, but that's not really news. Did they actually turn out in numbers above expectations for the age group?

I was under the impression that a lot of the ballots left were mail-ins that were brought into the polling stations on Tuesday, not actually mailed in.

That gives more credit to the Ronna and company than I think they deserve. I think they started to drink the I still use the EMB's #1 Cliche.

They remind me of these guys:

In Nevada mailed ballots count as long as they're postmarked by election day. They're still counting all the mail-ins.

Right. Maybe I was thinking AZ.

Well whatever the case, they've been breaking blue above a 60/40 split in both Clark and Washoe which means it's basically over already considering how many are still left.
