Republicans are too scared to go into the city for a meal. Doubt they make it there for war.

Funny how Trumplicans use info that comes from a right wing source. Yeah it would be bloody given that the Federal Government would be fighting against the White Christian Nationalists to prevent their overthrow. A supporter of President Donald Trump holds up a cross during the 'Stop the Steal' rally in Washington on Jan. 6, 2021. Credit - Christopher Lee for TIME On Jan. 6, 2021, Amanda Tyler watched the attack on the U.S. Capitol unfold with a growing sense of dread—and recognition. Like many Christian leaders, Tyler, the executive director of the Baptist Joint Committee for Religious Liberty, immediately noticed the presence of religious symbols in the crowd. Large crosses were everywhere, carried by protestors marching to the Capitol and depicted on flags, clothing, and necklaces. Demonstrators held up Bibles and banners reading, "In God We Trust,” "An Appeal to Heaven,” and "Jesus is my savior, Trump is my President.” Many of the people there that day cast the attack on the Capitol to stop the certification of the 2020 election as a biblical battle of good versus evil. Christian nationalism, a resurgent ideology that views the U.S. as a Christian country and whose proponents largely define American identity as exclusively white and Christian "helped fuel the attack on the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, uniting disparate actors and infusing their political cause with religious fervor,” Tyler testified on Dec. 13 at a House Oversight subcommittee hearing. The hearing was the first time in recent memory that someone had been asked to testify publicly on Capitol Hill about the threat posed by Christian nationalism, indicating the growing alarm about an ideology that has become more pervasive and more mainstream since Jan. 6. Its influence was evident in several violent events since, including in the manifesto of the 18-year-old who murdered 10 Black shoppers in a supermarket in Buffalo, New York earlier this year. "I’m really grateful that members of Congress are paying attention to how Christian nationalism overlaps with and provides cover for white supremacy, and how some of these extremists are being fueled by Christian nationalism, using it to try to justify their violence as being done in God’s name,”

Especially ones who didn’t feel so patriotic to fight the war on terror, but get all rambo when talking about their own countrymen. Ones who are naive and ignorant enough to think that the military would be on their side. I disagree with almost everybody on at least one issue, the same can be said about agreeing. I only called two people paper patriots. When did I "talk tough?” I posted statistics on gun ownership with the very obvious conclusion that fighting a group which controls your food, water and energy and has you outgunned 2:1 with a higher percentage of men in their ranks won’t work out well for you. And now fighting in Iraq is the benchmark of patriotism? BWAHAHAHAHA. Yeah, nothing says patriotic conviction like our misadventures in Iraq. Brilliant f***ing take there, genius. Keep smoking crack, my dude, it suits you.

Yeah, and those white people have an oath to protect and defend the constitution from you and your Insurrectionist pals.

December 30, 20222 yr Although the military members I know personally definitely lean right politically, oddly enough they don't tend to support sedition and violence against the federal government. Completely anecdotal based on an n of around 10, but I don't know any who are Trump supporters, even if they dislike Biden too.
December 30, 20222 yr You guys should come over to the main What's Up. We have fat girl threads, butterface threads, cripple threads, and various threads of dubious statutory legality.

I’ve been out for about 15 years but is still bet that military members still don’t sit around potting to take over the government, not even as a joke. I’m hoping that the Pence types out number the Trump types by a lot.

For a real "civil war" to break out there'd have to be a serious breakdown of the military structure with many members "joining the cause". I just don't see that happening for either current political ideology right now, especially amongst the higher ups. There's a major difference between wanting lower taxes and stricter immigration control, and invading the capitol because a reality TV star told you Pelosi was running a pedophilia ring out of a local pizza shop.

They're also not gonna "march lockstep" with a buncha Qtards trying to kidnap governors and overthrow democratic elections. Sedition and Treason are kinda frowned upon in the military. You're acting like that the military en masse would "pick a side" here. They won't. They'll follow orders and protect the rule of law. Whether that's disbanding violent protestors after George Floyd's murder, or stopping MAGA types from trying to overthrow the capitol.
