No. They’re clearly not that smart or learned.

But they could tell you they’re in favor of some things (like welfare and other transfer payments) and not in favor of others (like a well funded police force and legal system that harshly punishes crime).

TEW strongly supports a legal system that harshly punishes crime. Unless the criminals are Roger Stone and Mike Flynn, in which case, the system was grossly unfair and unusually cruel.

Meh, I don’t think that has anything to do with moving the drinking age to 21.  It’s not like people under 21 can’t get alcohol.  And I’d argue that all the age restriction of 21 does is encourage binge drinking.   Instead of 18-21 year olds enjoying A glass of wine or beer with dinner at their leisure, they get their drinking in solely at "illegal” parties.  So instead of encouraging responsible consumption of alcohol, we encourage irresponsible binging of alcohol.

Conversely, our drunk driving laws aren’t strict enough.  
As is the case too often in our country, we have laws punishing behavior that shouldn’t be punished. And where the law should come down like a hammer, it’s too soft.

If I recall correctly, 21 was the standard age, but during the Vietnam War, it was lowered to 18 in many states (as was the voting age), pretty much based on the same arguments people are making here. My mom grew up in Philly, and you had to be 21 to purchase alcohol in PA, but they used always go over to Jersey to buy liquor, since the drinking age was 18 there.

Yes my middle age co-workers who grew up in Philly say the same thing about going over to Jersey to buy beer.
