Now we see what Hurts can do. Really that simple.

We won’t really see what Hurts can do until the season starts and even then he’s only playing in his 5 game. The guy is still basically a rookie.

Everything I have ever said about Hurts is about Hurts himself and what he has shown thus far. The completion percentage, poor accuracy, turnover issues, mechanics, up and down play, poor adjustments etc...the irrefutable numbers themselves, all deal with Hurts himself.

Stats aren’t the end all be all. Do you remember that when he was playing we scored a lot more often than we did with Wentz and he has been a 5 year pro. He was consistently keeping us in games and the offense was productive, like 400 yards of total offense. He beat the Saints who had one of the best defenses in the NFL, he also went toe for toe with the Cardinals and Kyler Murray who had Larry, Hopkins, Drake m, ect ? What did Hurts have? Richard Rogers and Greg Ward we’re probably the most productive players at the time. He never made the countless mistakes that Wentz had holding on to the ball and fumbling left and right.
He had no OTAs, no Pre season and a team that had already lost all chemistry and coaches knowing they were going to be gone.
his 4 games he played he had more highlights than Wentz did all season. I think you forget how atrocious the offense was before him.  He was having drops left and right by receivers, his line was UDFAs and a 7th round rugby player who was starting for the first time. Bret Toth was just signed at the end of the season and was playing. Hurts wasn’t perfect but damn bro stop with this be. He will be a top 12-17 QB and that’s more than good enough to compete for wins.

I don't mind the optimism for Hurts but, 9 fumbles in limited action says otherwise.

Jason Kelce had 2 of them that were charged to Jalen , Mike Sanders also made a mistake on a run where it was his fault. Now also he didn’t lose the ball 9 times he recovered most of them.
Wentz was in fact having these issues and I remember Jon Gruden in his QB camps on ESPN said this was Wentzs biggest issue coming out of college. He always talked about being a 2 handed monster because he was always fumbling due to him being wreckless with his security dropping back he only would keep one hand on the ball. These are also issues with Sanders, Wentz, and yes Jalen. This to me means the coaching staff never worked on this issue as much as it should have been. This should have been engraved into Carson early in his career and in year 5 it should have been muscle memory to have two hands on the ball at all times. I blame a lot of that on Doug, Press Taylor, I’d always hear Duce talking about ball security not them.

The Fumbles are a major issue. On top of that 4 interceptions. Turnovers kill drives and lose football games. He has to do better or he won’t be in the NFL long. Sadly for him there is an NFL double standard. The other guy had 10 fumbles and 15 interceptions, but people still want that guy.

Surprised no on brought up that Doug went reconcile with Wentz in Indy. Then he went to hang out with Foles lmao

Elliott is fine on the long FGs, but he seems to have a brain cramp on the extra points, 33 yards out. He barely made that one. Really makes me nervous.

Wasn't he better last year on shorter FGs and Xtra points, sucked on long FGs? Maybe this year he'll be good on both (Let's hope)

The throw to Reagor was poor. Like I said in the other thread, the play with Watkins is beyond "Meh, timing."

Now the throw to Goedert was a beauty. The first throw of the game to Ertz ......, but that was another good throw.

I think looking at individual throws are a bit much.

You want to concentrate on patterns such as throwing high, worm burners early, and not hitting receivers in stride.

Patterns need time to reveal themselves so give the guy time.
