Young was ridiculously accurate and a great passer after people thought he was just a running QB. When he did run he put on a hell of a show lol. He's my favorite QB of all time. Young had 722 carries for 4,200 yard for his career. Wilson has currently 806 carries for 4,500 yards in 9 years and counting. Young became a better quarterback as his career went on. He was not ridiculously accurate when he was younger, but playing behind Montana all those years and being a part of that quarterback room/competition made him so much better. Wilson has been solid all around pretty much from his entrance into the league. Despite Wilson being a mobile quarterback he’s never missed a game. Meanwhile Aaron Rodgers (the QB prototype) can’t make that claim.

As well all know the BUCS were absolutely the crappiest team in history at the time and all the way up till the 2000's Then got traded to the niners and basically did squat for 5 years. His very first full 16 game season he had a 66% completion. Yes I know they had a west coast offense and were loaded with talent. Still to basically be used sporadically as running back your first 6 years of your career the to light it up like that your first full 16 is pretty crazy.

To bring this all into the perspective of the Eagles it’s why I believe it’s way too early to make any judgments on Hurts. Like Young he started out with a crappy football team and a lame duck coach who basically wanted out. Are there things that concern me about Jalen’s game? Absolutely and we already discussed them, but my point is we shouldn’t assume a player is what he will be as a young player especially when he’s on a team surrounded by crap. Heck Peyton Manning I still think owns the rookie record for interceptions in a season. If he played for the Eagles TATE would have wanted him traded after his rookie year.

No thank you. Leave Baltimore to the cute little Orioles. Some great movies and TV shows based in Baltimore. One of my all time favorites - highly recommended if you never saw. This one wasn't bad - but I'm posting here primarily for nostalgia reasons

Hopefully Hurts rather be more like Wilson than Vick. I am happy with a QB who can scramble for 1st down yardage. That deflates a defense that is doing well against them. They play great D, then the QB picks up a 1st down and the chains keep moving, and the opposing D gets deflated. I don't need a 4 gazillion yard gaining QB, but I DO want one who can keep the chains moving, whether by arm, legs or both.

Something about Hurts makes me think he’s a guy who’s willing to work on his accuracy and get better mostly because he’s such a hard worker and he has no problem taking the blame on himself. Frankly I’d rather have a guy with Jalen’s work ethic over a traditional passer throwing passes into triple coverage, pouting, and pointing his finger at everyone else but himself.

The one thing about Jalen though is his size. Over the years, save for Michael Vick, the Eagles have had some big men play the QB position to a good degree of success. Michael Vick is the outlier - although Jeff Garcia filled in nicely in a pinch.

I will say this- Jalen is a very super strong athlete, and if you hit him low in his legs, YOU are going to get hurt, not him. 🤣

He also was knocked out of a playoff game. Russell Wilson is 5’11 weighs 215 and never missed a football game in nine years.
