If he was any good someone would have added him to their roster in the last 2+ months. 2 hours ago, brkmsn said: He was there for the rookie minicamp and obviously wasn't helping the team get better. Mullens came in and had some good camp days at QB early. His preseason games were not very good, which led to his release. You're making more of something than there is to make. Newman didn't impress. Mullens impressed a little more, but ultimately not enough. You're making an assumption as to why he was waived, I searched to find a reason and have yet to find one, I don't think it had anything to do with on the field of play, maybe he came in drunk, drugged, badmouthed a coach, management, owner, kneeled or whatever. Keep in mind, players get blackballed in the NFL, see Colin Kapernick.

Cutting him this early is giving him a chance to land with another team. He is a practice squad guy. While he looked good against other third stringers at times, he also has happy feet hitting the hole and no elite skills to cement himself a roster spot

Edited to add, In regards to Holyfield, went undrafted, could not beat out UDFA Reggie Bonnafon for a roster spot, and people think he got a raw deal in Philly.

Some of these kids that get cut early should have the opportunity to get picked up by other teams. That is expected. The Eagles don't really need him.

Colin Kaepernick TURNED DOWN jobs with the 49ers (opted out) and Broncos (wouldn’t sign). The Ravens were on the verge of signing him years later. At the 11th hour Kaep’s wife/gf took drastic measures with her mouth (in order to keep the gravy train rolling). Later still, the NFL set up a PERSONAL WORKOUT. In a clear attempt to avoid the workout, Kaep rescheduled THREE TIMES. However, the NFL called his bluff and acquiesced to his childishness. After this happened, he failed to show up. These are the facts.

Bottom line, you can spin it any way you like, everybody knows he's out of the league for kneeling, which by the way, had nothing to do with football.

Yeah, has nothing to do with the fact he went 3-16 in his last 19 starts.

You didn’t even know the league scheduled a private workout. Please stop typing. Im not allowing another lie to become reality. Everything I said was accurate.

Maybe what you said was accurate but it's what you didn't say is what spoke volumes, namely, he's not in the league for kneeling.

Maybe what you said was accurate but it's what you didn't say is what spoke volumes, namely, he's not in the league for kneeling. He made the spectacle of himself. The reason teams didn't want to touch him is because fans didn't like him. On top of that, he peaked early and began regressing each time he kissed his biceps. He wasn't worth what he wanted to be paid and fans threatened boycotts at their favorite teams when any interest was advertised. At one time, Vick was the most hated person in sports. The only reason his NFL revival worked was because the Eagles didn't "need" him to be the guy when they signed him (for a low amount) and he actually changed as a person while he was out of the NFL and returned with humility. He worked hard to get better as a player and did everything Lurie, the NFL, and his legal conditions required him to do. Kap hasn't done anything to win over the fans that hate him. He was handed a $100 million settlement from the NFL for nothing and given the stupid workout opportunity which he chose to sabotage. I think even he knew his career as a starting NFL QB was nearing its end the first day he wore his pig-cop socks to practice.

Depends on his lifestyle. Who knows how he's spending his money and how much his family actually sees of it. He squandered 200 million. Elija isn't going to benefit from some amazing trust fund. (Note: Evander has 12 kids in total)
