"could have been the pick"

The dude is guessing who they would have taken. I could take a guess too that it would be Mims. No one knows expect Howie and Doug more then likely.

They weren't taking Dobbins

Well apparently they were considering it. He was in play if Hurts wasn't the pick.

OK but then we wouldn't have bought they were going to take a QB at #53 either. Howie works in strange and mysterious ways.

Good point. They value QB though. RB has been something they have invested day three picks and cheap free agent deals in. Last year was the first time in almost 10 years they took a RB in round 2.

Watch, with the Eagles luck, Mims ends up being the best receiver in the draft......

Thought for sure he would be the 5th or 6th WR off the board. Cant belueve he was 13th and behind guys like Claypool and Van Jefferson.

Exactly. He "heard" they "could've" been the picks.

No one knows these bloggers just guess and speculate for clicks and fans get "mad" at the team for no reason.

I highly doubt Gowton would be privy to that info (even after the draft concluded).

11 years - 2009 pick 53 LeSean McCoy - but then when you have McCoy there is no need to draft a RB high. And after CK traded McCoy for a tackling dummy ... well you know the history ... but it hasn't been all cheap free agents.

Well it wouldn't be the eagles luck because obviously they didn't want him and didn't care if he could be good or not.

However it would be our luck that mims is really good and hurts never plays a down and gives us something else we hate for the next 10 years lol

Chinn woulda been nice.

Definitely would have rather had Chinn than Hurts at that pick.

Tbh rather a backup QB than RB in the 2nd.

This. Dobbins could be a great, great back - and I don't care. QB is a much more important position and much more often that a high draft pick/pedigree is an indicator of success.

As for Chinn... whatever. I like Taylor and Wallace. This has become a league that favors offense more and more, and QB is the most important position. If they had Hurts as the BPA, he should definitely have been the pick.

So they didnt even contemplate the obvious steal there in Mims.

I wouldn't put too much credence into a BGN report on who was on the Eagles draft board.  Do they EVER draft who you think they will?
