Has any team suffered more of the same injury in less of a time span than the Eagles have. He probably going to be back sometime in week 2 or three of next season. Not that this one firs into the narrative but a lot of it was their own doing - poor drafting means you must let the roster age to plug holes and try and stay competitive, and as a result injuries increase and you ability to withstand decreases because you dont have a deep roster. While it's true about poor drafting and holding onto aging veterans, they have young guys getting hurt too. And it's been 5 years in a row with injury problems. Mailata first year starter hurt, last year young players and rookies like Sanders, Goedert, Reagor, Driscoll got hurt. 2nd round rookie Dickerson is already hurt which we expected due to his college injuries. They rushed him in because Brooks got hurt. The team is plagued with injuries despite hiring new training and conditioning staff a couple years ago. Dickerson has shown some promise. Dillard, who everyone was complaining, complaining, complaining about, has a very good PFF on the season. 76.1. 7th of 74 Tackles. Herbig 50.9 Dickerson 47.0 When Mailata gets back, I'd rather see him replacing the 50.9 PFF guy or the 47.0 PFF guy and not the 76.1 PFF guy. The Eagles really should want their first round draft pick Left Tackle to be starting and to be playing well. At least in that one game, Dillard did start at LT and did play well. Eagles fans should be happy about that. Mailata is just recently signed, big money, long term. It's generally unlikely that he'd be upset if he doesn't get to play at the LT position. I see him as a superweapon, but he's also likely to be a big improvement over, I'd say, Herbig, at LG. I'd also guess that LG would be easier than RG for a LT. I'd also say that Mailata at LG would be more useful to the Eagles on runs between the tackles than Mailata at LT.
nipples
What do you even do at this point other than accept that it’s just pure bad luck? Over the last three years They have tried changing medical staff with no change. Tried intense practices, lighter practices, playing in preseason, not playing in preseason. No matter what they do, for three straight years the injury bug is hitting them hard.

Not as many injuries in the SB year but Peters and Wentz, and some other guys missed significant time. After the SB it really started to get bad. jsdarkstar
At lease we have Dillard to play backup left tackle instead of the human turn style. Dickerson will get better with more reps. He almost got Hurts killed with that close line sack. Should of been a PF but the Refs always non call Dallas penalties. Herbig will be ok too. It would help, if they don't have to drop back in pass protection 50 times, by running the rock and taking pressure off Hurts as well. The offense needs to become a run first offense to set up play action or they will continue to lose games.

Reid and Pederson would murder their starter then protect the backup in the very way they should have protected the starter. Hopefully Hey Siri runs more next week! If the Eagles wanted to become a run first offense, which isn't a bad idea at all since they have a running QB, it would be a good idea for them to add bigger players. Like a Running Back who weighs more than the QB. A Fullback. A blocking TE. Players like that. The Cowboys used an OL, McGovern, in the backfield. Even if the OL is generally good, and the QB is a running QB, and the RBs are generally good at running, it's not helpful when the rest of the players aren't on the large side. Maybe start with activating Jordan Howard? Since they don't have big FB or big TE, maybe they can use one of the fast WRs (they do have them) as Jet Sweeper guy who goes in motion before the snap? Quez Watkins maybe? They do have players who can fill that role. Greg Ward Jr. adds passing to the equation. Whoever it is, the Eagles don't have to go and try to find a big player who can block. If they do go in that direction, getting a FB, could try Ben Mason, Patriots practice squad and Johnny Stanton, Browns practice squad. Both 240+ FBs with carrying the ball on their resumes. I hate to say this, but the offense and game plan that Dallas ran against us, is what we should be doing the rest of the season. I guess we will find out what happens. I hope they run the ball 30 times at least.
