Love great athletes,  but any DB who comes out of LSU raw…that should tell you the odds of him figuring it out.  He got better coaching there than he’ll get here.

They traded a 6th round pick for a 7th round pick with one less year of control.

Yes, but he went through TC and worked with an impressive defense in Denver. He’s coming to us with real NFL experience, though unfortunately not game experience. He stuck around there until now for a reason - they must’ve seen something in him and they have a great secondary.

We seem to be stock piling young CBs and not giving them any game time ?

No kidding. This dude's been in Philly for roughly 16 hours now and he still hasn't gotten in playing time!

They must not have seen all that much if they were willing to dump him just 6 months and a few days after drafting him.

Maybe they saw the need for more work than they were willing to put into him, having good secondary depth already. Or maybe Denver just didn't see potential, hard to say.

They saw enough to keep him around as a late 7th round flier until they got a 6th in return for him. That's a crowded CB room over there. Time will tell.

Maybe Denver is a CB factory?

Loved the guy during the draft. Was one of the sleepers. Smart and fast. Doubled as a track team with multiple awards. One of the better signings by Howie...assuming that coaches work him in, and considering our back field it should not be a problem. Overall A+ signing. Denver really was stacked at CB and certainly needed a good prospect. Worthwhile signing.

I don’t have any issue with dealing a late round pick to take a flyer on him.  I just think if he showed some potential they likely would have held on to him.  Good young corners are hard to come by.  Or perhaps they just saw value in adding a pick in a higher round.  As you said, time will tell.

One thing is for sure, we need speed in the secondary and he has speed.

Looking at his draft profile he's going to need good coaching and I think he's out of luck with this current group of coaches.

It's going to hit Lurie one decade, coaching is highly important in the game of football, until it does, don't wonder why the Eagles never seem to develop talent.

He has all the ingredients to make it..All he needs is an opportunity. I am highly optimistic about his future. Ball hawk in 2019. Did not play 2020 due to Covid. Drafted by a highly stacked at CB Denver. He may be a getting on the field occasionally this year..but come next year I expect him to do some good things.

I think Lurie actually has a pretty good track record selecting coaches. Can we please give our new coaches the benefit of the doubt for at least one season please?

That was the previous coaching staff. Gannon and Co. seem to be good at development.

Does he play GM?

It doesn't help that guys like Rasul Douglas and Sidney Jones are playing better on their new teams than they ever did here 😂

Lack of adequate player development also is killing this team in the secondary.

How about jordan poyer who we drafted in the seventh round and let go after a season and is now a top safety for the bills.

They'll hype this guy & the scrub they got from AZ who was never on the game day roster for 2-3 years as young exciting talent and an excuse to not draft any top secondary talent with high picks.

Who are they making these excuses to? The fans? Are they trying not to draft great players or something?

jet sweeper?

returning two kicks for touchdowns during his junior campaign "

Eagles really throwing a lot at the DB wall and hoping something sticks.

It's really not all that much different than what they've done at other positions.
