Posted November 6, 20214 yr Any other adults enjoy building lego sets? I find it very relaxing. Just turn off the brain and follow the steps. In the past I would just dismantle one of the kids sets and rebuild it, but now that I have a lot more room in the house I started buying sets for myself. I did the ISS set and a few of the Lego Architecture sets so far. I think they should look good in the basement bar we are building.

Tedious and frustrating.

Man, if you like shutting your brain off and letting your hands do work, I've got just the thing for you. I've got another 300sft of laminate hardwood to put down and carpet to tear up. Let me know when you're free

Two, if I don't feel like doing it anymore I can just get up from the table and do something else.

If this was actual hardwood to fit and nail in I’d give it to you.

November 7, 20214 yr Author Hey I get it guys. You have this message board image to keep and it's really, really important everyone here know how cool you are. I'll let you get back to talking about how great 12 dollar cans of beer that taste like coffee grinds, caramel and lemon are.

I personally have no issues with your hobby...... it can be put in the same place with model car, ship, or plane building. It can also be considered along the lines of a jigsaw puzzle in 3d. Nothing wrong with thinking in a completely different way than you normally do. Along similar lines, there are those who like similar city type video games....... doesn't matter what you build, real or digital, temporary or permanent. Cause and effect and the dynamics of the build. I am sure any of the above mentioned can be rewarding........ I would rather see folks doing any of those as opposed to many other destructive things. Personally, I play guitar, bass and piano....... Along with time on Playstation with some COD, Battlefield..... MLB the show, Wreckfest. And a substantial amount of contributions to the boob thread. Enjoy

Enjoy I play video games. There are a couple I play myself and a bunch that are fun to play with the family or just my son (he is a big gamer). Minecraft would be along the lines of a more creative type of game, both my kids and myself have a huge spawling world that we have been working on for years. I wish I was more artistic as far as music or art, I just don't have "it". I've tried multiple times. The only thing I have shown a slight inclination for is oil painting, my wife is decent at that and I kinda get it. I may give that a shot now that I have a lot more free time. Cooking and BBQ is my real hobby and I am really good at that.

The stuff I bought does not snap together well. I've done well over 500sf in a day before at work with no problem, but my tiny little 160sf living room took 10 hours and I'm going to have to rip it back up when I do the hallway that connects to it because my seems weren't tight enough

As a fellow foot guy, my big toe game is absolutely on point. I'd definitely give it a good wipe down before you go to town though.

As something to do in the winter. I didn't realize how advance some kits got some are actually only considered for adults as they have thousands of pieces. https://www.lego.com/en-us/themes/technic Pricey as hell though but seem interesting and you can put actual motors and stuff in them.

I am an adult serial killer, so I have purchased and assembled sets somewhere starting this past December as a way to kill time while cooped up (originally living in a hotel room for 2 months post-relocation when restaurants were still shut down). I have done a huge Harry Potter wall mural, a baby yoda, two of those US city architecture ones, a 1989 batmobile, Taj Mahal, Seinfeld Jerry’s apartment, Harry Potter diagon alley. I have the huge hogwarts castle (boxed), the home alone house (boxed) and a 20th anniversary Harry Potter one (boxed) that I might not do until late winter as I’m most likely going to move and some things will be harder to transport. I am about 20% started on a world map wall mural

The car ones have been around for a while. The architecture sets are cool too. I have the statue of liberty and white house. I really want the Roman collaseum but it's like 600 bucks and pretty big. My kid has the bat mobile. I've enjoyed building the sets for a while but what made me make this post was when I realized how many adult geared sets they have now.

These popped up and I got interested. I like the Nintendo one lol. I might start with the batmobile just to see if I like it before I get anything to expensive or crazy

So far my favorite I have built, as far as how it looks, is the ISS set. Gonna hang it in the corner of the basement after the bar is built. The sets with several thousand pieces can get pricey

I also would like to do colosseum but have no clue where I would put it. There is a massive titanic coming out in near future that’s like $650 I think. I did plastic model cars/dinosaurs in my late elementary/middle school years… once you had to paint and glue all the pieces. After like 10 I did a titanic one that took FOREVER but was exciting to have something so complex. Obvious legos are much easier since it’s all straightforward instructions and no precision is needed, but it’s one I may consider when it comes out
