Uscg-green Posted November 22, 2021 Posted November 22, 2021 Is Jason Kelce a HOFef? He has 116 consecutive starts dating back to 2014. 4 time probowler. 3 times first team all pro. SB champ. He has been the unquestioned leader of some really dominant offensive lines. I say it will take some time but he will get there.
D-Shiznit Posted November 22, 2021 Posted November 22, 2021 Kelce will make the Pro-bowl this year, giving him 5 total. That's HOF consideration, but not a slam dunk. If he can put in a year or two more and get to about 6-7 Pro-bowls, coupled with the SB ring, he becomes close to a lock. 4

I think his strongest resume bullet is the three consecutive years of first team all Pro. That's what gets O linemen in. And the SB ring. I'm wondering if he has a chance for a 4th this year. 1
Mike030270 Posted November 22, 2021 Posted November 22, 2021 Pro bowl is popularity contests. Getting all pro and the ring is what counts Was he added that to that all decade team? 2

Three in a row is a strong showing. I think he has a outside chance for a 4th this year. Especially if we keep rushing like this. 1
Uscg-green Posted November 22, 2021 Author Posted November 22, 2021 If he can pull off a 4th all pro this year that will put the cherry on top. Every center in HOF has at least 4 all pros and 5 pro bowls. All have been to a SB. I think he needs this 4th one.
UK_EaglesFan89 Posted November 22, 2021 Posted November 22, 2021 He should and it should be a no brainer... But I don't think he will.

He gets a 4th all pro this year if you go by the check list from past centers it's almost a lock. He's the captain of the arguably best line in the league and still dominant himself. I also wonder if the consecutive game steak is a factor. 1
CaliEagle Posted November 22, 2021 Posted November 22, 2021 I think he will get in eventually but not right away. Historians will probably go back and look at the 2017 Eagles teams and other SB teams and see who else merits HOF consideration that they missed out on. At that point, I think he gets in. But, I think it will be a decade or two after he retires. He definitely deserves it. I think he could still play another year or two if he wants to play. He is still playing at a high level.
RememberTheKoy Posted November 22, 2021 Posted November 22, 2021 I think I've read some stat that every other center in NFL history that has been named 1st Team All Pro 3 times is in the Hall of Fame. He has 3. He can potentially get a 4th this year. I think if he does get another All-Pro selection this year then he is a shoe in for making it at some point. If he decides to keep playing for another year or two then he can work his way towards a 1st ballot if he holds up this high level of play. Looks like the 3 time all-pro is just since 2000. Quote Since 2000, three centers have been called to Canton, Ohio. All three were selected to the All-Pro team at least three times. Kevin Mawae, a part of last year’s class, got the honor three times. https://www.inquirer.com/eagles/eagles-jason-kelce-all-pro-selection-center-nfl-hall-of-fame-brandon-brooks-20200103.html

It will be interesting what he decides to do this offseason. He has that poison pill in his contract but he can waive that, I believe. I'll bet he's having a lot more fun this season than last.
MIRV Griffen Posted November 23, 2021 Posted November 23, 2021 Let’s be honest: that Super Bowl speech is the X-factor that gets him in 😉 7

The Blackfish Posted November 23, 2021 Posted November 23, 2021 Kevin Mawae I think was the most recent and he had 7 All Pro’s. Hopefully if the Eagles keep winning Kelce will re-do his contract and comeback next season. O Linemen love run blocking so this style of offense should bring him back.
Aerolithe_Lion Posted November 23, 2021 Posted November 23, 2021 12 Centers since 1940 have made 3 all-pro teams. 11 are in the hall of fame Jason Kelce is the 12th 1 1
Talonblood Posted November 23, 2021 Posted November 23, 2021 Eagles HOF? Yes. The other HOF? Borderline.

BayAreaLennie Posted November 25, 2021 Posted November 25, 2021 I think they'll vote for him just so they get to listen to him make a speech in Canton - that post-Super Bowl speech he made on Broad Street is legend. He is so well-respected by everyone around the league -- players, announcers, coaches, etc -- for his intelligence, leadership and team spirit, I gotta believe he will get in. 2

RoadToHell Posted December 23, 2021 Posted December 23, 2021 Hall of famer or not he’s already a Philly legend right under Dawk. Nuff said
