Yes.  It's possible.

We are 5-6 with @NYG, @NYJ, WFT, NYG, @WFT, DAL.  If we win the next five games we will be 10-6 going into the Dallas game week 18.

The Cowboys are 7-4 with @NO, @WFT, @NYG, WFT, ARZ, @PHI.  If Dallas loses just one game out of the next five, their record would be 11-5 going into week 18.

If Dallas loses one game to WFT or NYG, Dallas' division record would be 4-1.  Ours would be 4-1.  A win in week 18 wins the division

If Dallas loses to NO, Dallas' record vs common opponents would be 7-5.  Ours would be 8-4.  A win in week 18 wins the division

If Dallas loses to ARZ and we beat them in week 18, the effective tiebreaker would be Strength of Victory.  Dallas would have unique wins over LAC, MIN, and NE versus DEN, DET, and NYJ for the Eagles.  Dallas would win the division.

Please let me know if my scenarios are incorrect.

That's exactly what I calculated after the Cowboys lost tonight.

So you’re telling me there’s a chance

Who would’ve thought we would be here after that horrid last season and the start of this season. It’s crazy we are even entertaining this idea right now, but it’s not impossible.

Yeah, who could have thought that! 😁

It's going to happen.  The Cowgirls stink and Dak shrivels up under pressure.

I think a more likely scenario is we stumble once along the way and the Cowboys lose two than that both teams run the table (other than one Dallas loss) ... not sure how all the tiebreaker scenarios work in that case, but sure is fun to think about winning the division.

I feel like WFT may be the sleeper team in the division yet again

Im still not thinking that,

you're an idiot

Eagles beat the Giants and they hold the final playoff spot with time to improve.

Still don't think it's going to happen but hey it's nice to dream and it's nice to just be in the conversation.

But I just can't see it when I look at those schedules.

Firstly us winning the next 5 is a stretch. Yes I know we have a favourable schedule there but we will drop one against WFT and possibly one against NYG. I still think this team is going to drop at least 2 more games this year and in fact it could easily be 3 more.

Dallas schedule isn't that much harder than ours really. NO are getting found out and they'll have confidence they can come in to Philly and get the W.

The Cowboys could lose to Arizona. That’s probably a huge game for them considering that could mean the difference for home field and a bye. Is it a big challenge for the Eagles to run the table? Absolutely, but it’s not impossible for it to happen considering the opponents they’re facing. I’m pretty sure every game from this moment on will have a large Eagles following at them. They’re all almost home games. Ona side note I feel like there will be a little revenge factor when it comes to WFT and the Eagles. They swept the Eagles last year, but I know Hurts wants a little payback after what happened in that last game.

That fact that we can talk about playoff possibilities YET ALONE winning the NFCE is just amazing considering how the first half of the season went.  :flex:

Arizona is an L for Dallas IMO. If Kamara is back, which is fairly likely, the Saints could beat them.

For the Eagles, I just see a team that has an identity finally. They aren’t losing to Washington or NY. Division game or not, the Giants are a dumpster fire. They’re not winning another game this season. Washington is a little better but don’t see them beating the Eagles.

The Qb-less Saints have finally run out of gas, Pokes will thrash them with Cooper & Lamb back in the lineup.  I know it's tempting to just narrow this down to the Cowboys last games versus Zona and @ Philly, but there is a lot of football left to be played and this season anybody beats anybody.  WFT is no push over, they have spoiler written all over them.

But yes, the divisional race is on with a victory @NYG

I'm just glad I stuck with my 7 win prediction cause it looks like I'll be wrong in a good way! I gave them more wins then most and didn't waver from it.

Cautiously optimistic. At this point, hell with the draft pick. At this point WC seems more attainable. Division would be a cherry on top.

The defense is getting better and more complex as well. The offense will be great once Hurts discovers WR2 and WR3.

Our issue in the playoffs, however, will be similar to the Browns- if we are up and running the ball, we will be potent. But as we get behind and have to lean more on Hurts being the classic QB, it will go south (assuming he doesn't get better in this area).

I am right there with you.  I also predicted 7 wins before the season started ... stuck with it when Hawkeye started the "rethinking the Eagles win total" thread, and will be thrilled to be wrong if we exceed that.

I think we would need the miners to lose to the Vikings too

Vikes-49ers is a huge game for both teams.  The final 2 NFC playoff spots come down to Vikes/9ers/Eagles.  Saints/Panthers/WFT/Hawks/Falcons are all pretenders that can't keep up down the stretch.  personally, I think it's the Niners who won't make the cut, Crappopolo is garbage.

It's just encouraging that the eagles have actually made a run at the playoffs after struggling so much.  The experience and improvement could be a great spring board into next season.

Playoffs or not, the only thing the eagles can do is focus on beating the Giants right now.

That's it. Every win helps us to form a true team. And rent is due every day.. better underestimate nobody if we want to play in the playoffs.

Indeed.  All I wanted for this season was:

  1. to see improvement in Hurts’ level of play as the season progressed ✔️
  2. see the team overall improving and looking like they are on an upward trend (after being on a downward trajectory since 2017) ✔️
