According to who? This is the same coaching staff that had Jordan Howard tucked away on the practice squad for more than half the season. It took a Miles Sanders injury just to get him upgraded. Should he have not been starting over Scott or Gainwell?

I have to think this it is more than the coaching staff but rather roseman or lurie. Every year there are players starting or making the team more so because they were draft picks than their production would warrant. Howard on the practice squad may be one of the less egregious roster decisions. Earlier in the season it wouldn't have mattered if Howard was on the active roster since they didn't bother to run the ball much at all. Losing to the Giants is pretty sad. I thought they were one of the worst teams in the league and beat us. Probably would have won if we only turned it over 3 times instead of 4 though.

Personally I like Jordan Howard, but he has 51 rushes, 274 yards and is already hurt, but people are acting like he’s leading the league in rush yards. Both of his tenures in Philly have been marred with short runs and injuries. Also like you mentioned the Eagles weren’t even running the ball earlier in the season and now that they have both Sanders and Howard got hurt. Seems to me this team lacks a back capable of handling a heavy workload right now and if this is the type of offense (run first style) the Eagles want to continue to run then they better invest in a back capable of handling a larger workload.

I don't think it is likely Sanders gets re-signed when his rookie contract is up ... he just hasn't proven to be worth what it will cost to do so ... so seems like a safe assumption they will draft a RB in April.  I am guessing they can probably sign Howard to another 1 year, minimal deal - I would be fine with bringing him back for another year.  But they shouldn't count on him to be "the guy" but instead be used more as a rotational piece (as he has been).

Agreed with all of this, but I do hope Howie does a better job with his selection of a back this time. I know I’m asking a lot there. 😂

Really thought we were gonna trade him at the deadline. But then he had to get injured....

It’s frustrating to have backs we can’t count on.

Eagles playoff chances back up to 30%. If the season ended now they’re in. Just keep winning.

As long as we address the defense in the 1st...I am fine with 2nd or 3rd round RB.

Bum-ass Bears just couldn’t help us out with Minnesota last night.

If we can't beat a Washington team missing their top 2 QBs and quite a few other starters and a 4 win Giants team also without their starting QB then we have no business being in the playoffs.

My point is that even if the Eagles win out, they need help because there are teams ahead of them. So yes, we really needed the Vikings to lose to help our chances.

If we win tonight, our playoff chances still stand at 36% (had the Vikings lost that would have been 49%).  The biggest drop in odds is if we lose ... that drops all the way down to 9 or 5% depending on the outcome of the Viking's game).  We just need to focus on our games and win out ... we should control our own destiny.

They don’t control their own destiny yet though. Even if they win out, they can miss the playoffs. Pretty sure if San Fran and Minny both win the rest of the way, the Eagles are out regardless of what they do.

Obviously anything is possible, but I'd say odds don't favor Minny winning out ... they have games against the Rams and Packers coming up.  But then again, I don't think the odds favor us winning out either.

Especially with that Tampa loss. The Cowboys are still in the hunt at least for the second seed. The Eagles are probably going to get a Dallas team with something to play for. With that being the case if they can’t beat Dallas they don’t deserve the post season like you mentioned before.

I just went thru every realistic scenario on that espn simulator... IF we make it... there is a good chance we play At Dallas, or At Tampa... lol...  Ya, no thanks.

Tampa just lost to NO, and Dallas isn’t as good as their record indicates. Not saying the Eagles can pull it off, but getting in gives a chance. I’m not confident in the Eagles defense making stops against good quarterbacks, but I’d rather they make the playoffs than not especially after that horrid 2020 season. I’m pretty certain regardless Howie realizes this team needs an influx of talent from both the draft and free agency.

I think with this team, id be more excited over a higher draft pick <yes i know we have 3> then getting roasted in the playoffs AND getting a pick in the 20s.

I don’t see them being bad enough to get the high pick anymore. I think even right now they are at nine or ten. Seriously doubt they can get in the top five, besides with those three picks Howie has the ability to move up or down the draft board.

Eagles are now one spot out of a playoff spot with the Viking in their way, but they still have games left with the Packers and the Rams. Eagles still need to win at least two games. Honestly they probably have to run the table which could be difficult going up against Dallas, but the Cowboys didn’t play this team that runs the ball at will last time.

Parsons also wasn't being used properly back then. I have a feeling we will be playing Dallas 3x this season....

I thought by that first game Dallas was using Parsons as a DE also? I wouldn’t e surprised to see the Eagles play them 3 times.
